It's an amazing world. The career is just so holistically multifaceted, and allows so much freedom of expression. Put simply, you'll never be bored in your job.
My school (Dalhousie) is more so a design/arts based university (as opposed to the engineering/science oriented schools). It's very studio centered. You're around your classmates all the time, and the work allows for you to be social and to feed off others (it's also an absolute gongshow.. so much fun).
We have 4 courses per semester, as well as one week-long professional practice module (basically just a chill week when some of the WORLD'S top architects come in to lecture and chill with us. We visit firms and sites, and just have a good time).
Courses are divided between Building Technology, Representation (art class), History, and Design (double-value course).
My professors are some of the top practicing architects in the region (they practice and teach simultaneously). This gives some very practical insight into the career.
We also have two intern periods throughout the degree. One is a 4 monther, the other a 7 month.
That's a general outline of my school in particular. Most schools are fairly similar though. I must say though, architecture school will consume all of your time (if you want to do well). I don't mind though, because I find it extremely stimulating and FUN! Work isn't like regular schoolwork, which makes it easier.
I would recommend architecture if you are artistically/design inclined, are personable and innovative, can deal with insane amounts of work/time input/stress and criticism, but also want to have one of the coolest most satisfying careers I can think of.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. I just got off of a 15 hour day.. haha.
Good luck with everything, and don't stress not knowing what you want to do. It's completely normal!
