What is your average RHR?

So a while ago I had this class and the prof asked us all to take our own. I was recently thinking of this again and I decided I wanted to figure this out.... Over 3 days I took mine AS SOON as I woke up just to see and then averaged it together.

The result?

My average resting heart rate is 87 BPM.

So I challenge you NS, what is yours?

I generally do 30 seconds and multiply by 2.

Well I've been awake for a few hours, but I've just been sitting around chillin', and I just took it and got 58bpm. I'll try it over a few days when I wake up though like you said, then average them and post the results.

low 60's.

but my heart palpitates alot (beat isnt consistent) which is bad

and also with enough regulated breathing and using certain techniques i was taught at this place that did brain monitoring, i have brought my heart rate down to really low, with the lowest being at 34 bpm. it was really really weird.

I just got 58 (although I didn't just wake up, it used to be below 50 back when I was in x-country and stuff. Another thing to look at fitness is recovery-time... seeing how long it takes to get your pulse back to a normal rate after getting it really high for a few minutes.

it's usually somewhere between 42-46 bpm.
it's generally been quite low, and I'm also in excellent shape.
it usually freaks some people out in situations where rhr's are being taken..

20 year old male - I tested mine at wal-mart the other day and it was saying 52.

I am in shape but NOT THAT in shape lol.  I have thyroid issues which are probably causing my rhr to be so low!!!!
