Ethical dilema

so 2500 was randomly deposited into my bank account today.

do i:

a) spend it as fast as possible
b) lay low for a while and then spend it slowly
or c) call the bank and tell them about this mistake

your thoughts? and don't be like give me some. provide reasons please.

i would say the bank will catch on pretty fast. and it will be out of there fast.
i would call the bank and tell them.

dont spend it right away. id keep it in my account for a while and if anyone asks just say you thought it was yours

false. i bet they would just pull up the records of the last time he logged into his account (im assuming online banking)

everytime i log into my bank to pay a bill, transfer funds, etc. it pops up showing me the last time i logged in to make sure that i have been the only person logging in.

i would call them up and inform them of their mistake. maybe they will throw a $20 or something at you for being honest.

just wait it out, dont spend it for 2 weeks or so, usually by then if the bank hasnt taken it back ur safe

id say just lay low but dont touch it. if after a month the balance hasnt changed significantly (drop in 2500$) then id say you are safe

bank cashed a 36 dollar check as a 3600 once. i decided to wait a few days, got a letter from my bank saying it had been fixed, and that i would have been up the creek (my fault, not theirs at all) if i had spent the dough.
