I'm looking to get some decent priced used skis. I just recently started skiing again after a 5 year hiatus but am ok (i can do blacks at whistler pretty easy just to give you a sense of my ability). I ski all mountain but want to buy a ski that i can transition into park once i get good enough.
let me know which ARV vs. AR6 vs. Kung Fuja and why, or suggest another ski.
ARV is meant moreso of an all mountain twin.
AR6 is meant moreso for park, but I use it all mountain just fine, I just have it mounted back from center a bit.
The Kung Fujas is rockered this year, so thats plenty of appeal there for all mountain.
It mostly comes down to how much you want to spend. AR6 will be the cheapest, and not much has changed with them, so you can by within the past couple years and be fine. ARV and Kung Fujas are about the same on pricing.
I'd personally say that they would all do fine transitioning into park, but still working as all mountain skis. AR6 could be good if your looking for used skis. If your gonna spend more, and are stuck between ARV and Kung Fujas, I'd go with the Fujas for the sake of the rocker, and i've really only heard good things about them.
I've tried all three. AR6s is fine all mountain but geared towards park. ARV & Fujas are about the same level but this year, I have to give it to the Fujas... Super fun ski...Great in Pow, park & groomers. They are well balanced with the right amount of flex.
So if I were to go with the ar6's i'd be fine with a used model, but what about the fujas and arv? how are the previous models of those skis (as there's no way in hell i'm buying new skis!)
i have been riding my ar6s for a good 2 years now and i love them really durable but really good in the park also. i ski 95 percent park but when i venture out they still handel really well, the top sheet does peel a little but the actual ski is reaallly good.
If you are going to pick up last years Fujas, I would go with ARVs instead. I was talking about this years Fujas which feels a lot better than last years.
