Replying to HV30 wont turn on. help?

I bought an HV30 from a member a little while back and everything was fine, batteries charged, new tape, etc. it turned on and off fine and took great shots. the other day while setting up to shoot though, it turned off and wont turn back on. i was adjusting the white balance and such and taking a few practice shots but after leaving it on the tripod for a few minutes (less than 8 or so) it turned off and wont turn on. i switched batteries, brought it inside, still nothing. when i plug the camera in no light goes on either. the tape will not eject either. anyone have this problem before? help would be really appreciated, i'd hate to see all the money i put in to it go down the drain.
