I need help Binding spacers ?

Currently i ski on a pair of 07 165cm Dynastar Nothing But Troubles (twin tips) i have no problems with them i just dont like how my 07 marker 11.0  bindings are not mounted directly to my skis? there on like a spacer. Im thinking about geting a diffrent binding and having it mounted directly to the ski because these bindings are heavy and anoying any help would be greatly appreciated  thanks and why the spacer?

spacers lift your boot from the ski thereby creating more leverage on your binding allowing easier carving...

Often times these spacers are removed or unwanted for freestyle skiing because without them you have better feeling on rail and you're closer to the ground...

i'm fairly sure you can remove em without any probs, just don't forget to cut off your screw accordingly otherwise you'll be tightening your screws straight through your base...

if you're looking for other bindings NS will probably storm in and start advising you either griffon/jesters, Look px12-18 or look pivots....

For future reference this should go into Gear Talk.

The spacer or riser as some call it is to raise you up a little in order for you to have a different vantage point on the ski. So you can get a better carve I guess.

What kind of skiing are you doing? Because the Marker 11.0 isn't really a freeride binding. More of a general carving binding.

Also you said you want different bindings. Is there really a reason for this? If you do that you'll have to fill some holes and redrill new ones because the template for the drill holes of the new binding will not be the same as the old.
