I'm currently making an edit and have no idea how to watch the file. I'm editing the file so it's in HD when it's done. My camera is Sony and shoots in .mts format. I tried exporting and it opens up another program which then always has an error occur when I try exporting it. Does anybody have any ideas of what I could do?

It's probably an issue with your export settings. There's a slight chance that there's been a corruption issue with Media Encoder itself, but I think that's pretty unlikely. What are your export settings (file format, bitrate, multiplexing, presets)?

In premiere:
file format: avi
bitrate: 16
multiplexing: don't see any
preset: NTSC DV
in media encoder:
everything the same
now I did illegally obtain the cs4 collection. Will that mMs a difference? And I usually go ofline while using adobe because in order to open adobe I have to do that. Will that make a difference too?

I don't think that should make a difference. My guess is it's an
encoding problem going from HD (is your video 720 or 1080?) to standard def.
I'd try a foolproof encode first to troubleshoot Media Encoder:
Format: Quicktime
Video Codec: H.264
Quality: 75
Frame Width: 640
Frame Height: 360
Frame Rate: Same as Source
Pixel Aspect ratio: Square
Bitrate: 1200 kbps
If that works, you'll at least know that Media Encoder is working correctly. If it fails, you may have to reinstall CS4.

Ok, I did this and I don't get an error message anymore during the coding. It actually completes it. Now when I go to the place i coded it too. Its nonexistant. I'm pretty sure my camera is 1080i but I could be wrong.
