How do you wear your headphones with helmet?-picture thread

I have a helmet that fits perfectly on my head and if i put some headphones under then they hurt my head...so i was wondering how do people with the same situation as me wear their helmet...pictures preferably

whats ur helmet...Ive always puted my earphones normally under my trace and my holt expect usually i have to put the earpad a bit lower than my ear so it is comfy, thats with icons I guess thats what you have

speakers on ears, but the headpiece goes behind your neck. put your chin strap so it goes over the headphones, and they should stay in place.

i noticed this on martini in one of this years films.

i use the skullcandy tune ups, they're designed to go with a giro helmet but they could totally be squeezed in almost any helmet with earpads.

theyre not bad, decent sound quality, little switch thingy on the cord so you can control the volume or turn them on or off, no forward/back control though which is a bit annoying but yeah not bad overall, way better than negotiating earbuds underneath

I rock icons under my helmet and they fit fine, but if you put them so they are behind your head and below your helmet, sort of like the behind the head headphones that were big a couple years back, they stay on fine.

I don't use ear pads though. If you do really the only way is ear buds. But I still think those are uncomfortable with the ear pads.

Honestly I don't know why I didn't just buy a regular skate pro-tec helmet.

OK guys! HERE's MY SOLUTION!

FIRST excuse my english, i'm french...
now,
you'll need :

-skullcandy icon 2s
-helmet : SALOMON BRIGADE
-2 nails
-pieces of foam or something soft and quite thick.

step 1 :

Take off the backstrap of the helmet by pulling hard on it, should comme quite easily.

step 2 :

turn it upside down and with the 2 nails, attach the torn part to the inside of the helmet as shown on the bottom right picture,be sure to let enoughe space for the icon 2 to fit in. put the foam beetween the nail and the strap, as shown on the picture.
step 3 :

put it on you head, with the skullcandy around your neck, be sure to put the left speaker on the right side and vice-versa.

step 4 :

using the button, put the headstrap of the icon 2, inside what you just attached to the helmet.

Why the fuck do people go through all this trouble when you could just pop some earbuds in....doesn't make sense. Just another thing that's can get uncomfortable and needs adjusting.

There you go. These sound a 1000x better than any Skullcandy headset ever will, plus they are very durable and give excellent isolation. The sound is just amazing.

vmoda bass freqs. the old kind thats now sell for like 10 dollars i shit you not they have the most solid base i have ever heard from a cheap pair of ear buds. like they discontinued it because it was unsafe, thats how awesome they are. so worth it. i bought like 2 pairs you should too

I'm not so excited about this, it's annoying enough having to listen to everyone listening to music from their phone.  If this means I have to walk around hearing other's shitty music I'm not excited.

The reason I don't wear earbuds is because they fall out of my damn ears whenever I move.  They're ok for walking or riding a bike around town but not for me on the ski hill.  I rode without music last year I gotta say I think it's better, just feel the mountain!

I love Nixon stuff, but I definitely agree with this. Bought these as soon as they came out, and was extremely disappointed with them for that factor. They have since changed from the nylon to a poly or rubber cord, makes it much better.

I take the "clip" part off (its detatchable) and velcrow it to the ear part of my helmet. I can't tell its there and i can still hear my sorroundings with the music. Decent headphones too.

as much as i appreciate a nice hi fidelity pair of headphones, when im skiing i like to keep my ear buds in the $40-50 range. Ive got some sonys that i got for around 45 that are quite nice. Its just pretty easy to get snow in headphones or fuck them up another way especially when you just have little ear buds dangling around. I agree though, dont buy fucking skullcandies, like dont even get me started on that company...

Earbuds. Seems like the only thing that would ever be functional. Really want the new outdoor tech bluetooth thing. Would make switching songs on my iphone way easier.

put beanie on. put icons on. put headband of said icons behind head. but helmet on. tighten helmet so headphones are secured under helmet strap. icons will indeed stay put except in cases of hard falls.

I did this just yesterday to have a sweet setup this winter.


I cut the bottom of the ear covers on my POC helmet neckroll. Then I removed the plush covers on the headphones and removed the frame so I was just left with the then circular speakers. Then I put the speakers into the neckroll and sewed it up. Looks good, not too bulky and the sound quality from the skullcandy headphones is great. Also stoked that I saved close to $100 on the Beats/Skullcandy communication neckroll that POC sells.

I seriously think it's better just to use something like Skullcandy TuneUps. Available for virtually every helmet brand, Bluetooth or auxiliary cable, lots of options. And they can't be beat for durability and wearability--it's just a part of your helmet!
