Carinthia's Park Rangers have been busy this week as three new areas previously without features received some love during the week:
Prospector opened up a few days ago with Ten Features including a huge Up-Down A Frame Birch Tree Jib, the Old A-Frame Tree Jib, a new bonk to down tree jib, and two up birch tree rails including a flat and a round.
Lower Nitro below the Prospector cut over opened up with two lines. Skiers left features three traditional rails a flat rail, flat box, and an up box. Skiers right is an extension of Prospector with some larger natural jib features including a birch tree rainbow, three huge logs tied together, and a larger tree stall. Below the two lines you'll find a 25-30' kicker and then the Cliff Drop.
Below that you'll come to the Junkyard where you'll find two 25' rails - an urban down and a down flat down box, then a propane tank jib, and the staircase set that was unveiled last May at the Peace Pipe Jam.
Inferno & Mineshaft are the only two left and both have recieved some major snowmaking. Gaitor, Elia and crew have been pushing snow around in Inferno all week as they prepare for the Dew Tour. Inferno will open to the public before the Dew Tour for about two weeks before we close up shop for a quick re-build for the pros (look for this around the 26th or so.)
Mineshaft if you've skied down it you'll notice the enourmous piles underneath each fan gun. This will all be moved around to make the mini-pipe and some other larger rail features that are still left to get on the hill. Our boneyard of rails is getting less and less as they go up on the hill. As I write this approximately 80 features are currently at Carinthia.
Photos of the new features are up in the Mount Snow - Carinthia Cult.
