Today I heard for the first time about one of my best friends. I had heard a ton of rumors, none of which I thought could be true. It was said that he smoked laced weed. One said that he was in a coma and would never wake up. Another said that he went to the hospital and became perma fried and would never be the same. Then I finally met my good friend and the guys best friend. He said that he had smoked laced weed got soo high that he forgot who he was and absolutely everything else. He said that he had went to see him the day before and he could barely hold a conversation and acted as if he was still high. None of this could possibly be true. At least I told myself that.
After work I went to go see him. When his parents let me in they told me that he was sleeping and that I may not want to see him in the condition that he was in. They then gave me a piece of paper and told me to write a note for him when he wakes up. I was so shocked all I could do was stare at the piece of paper. Before I started to write his mom asked me if I had any idea of what happened. I told her that I heard he was in terrible condition and went to the hospital so I stopped by to see if he was all right. (The reason I didnt tell her what I knew was that if my friend hadnt told her there most be a very good reason that he didnt. Also I was not even sure what happened.) She then proceeded to tell me how bad of a condition that he was in. He was not able to wash himself, feed himself, or just about anything. She also said that the night before when she was talking to him he only spoke in jiberesh. I then asked her if I could see him. She agreed and I fallowed her to his bedroom. As i entered his bedroom he tracked me with his head. He did not open his eyes, but had his lids shut to the full extent but still able to see me. She sits down on his bed and asks him if he is awake. He mumbles something that I could not understand. She then talks to him some more and eventually gets him to sit up. He looks at me and I ask if he remembers me. He nods and smiles at me. I smile back, not a real smile, but a sad smile. I try to talk to him but he says very little and cant bring his voice above a mumble. His mom then lays him back down and he closes his eyes again. His mom and I then continued to talk about his past, present, and future. During the conversation he jerks upright and yells Boo! This told me that deep down inside he still had his same personality. But I must say that, that was the saddest conversation I have ever had in my life. I then said my goodbyes and headed home.
Now I just hope that this is just a temporary condition and hope he will eventually recover.
