Are pro (park) skiers good at skiing?

Like if you took them heli skiing and they had to jump off a 50 foot cliff onto a 60 degree run are their some park pro's who would wuss out?   Same goes for snowboarders.  Are all park pro's also able to actually ski double diamonds?

I don't know Martini is a great example of a park rat. He might not be able to ski some gnarly ass AK shit but he was one of the top racers in NH before he got into freestyle. Im sure with some experience, he could step to some pretty crazy stuff.

Sorry, I dont mean they have to basically be a pro at all mountain skiing, just be as good as you would expect.  Like be able to ski expert runs.  You know, the US olympic gs at Squaw started from the palisades.  That is good enough for me.

yeah i wouldnt say that there are a ton of skiers who could easily do that. im sure most pro park skiers couldnt do that but that definitely doesnt mean the suck at skiing outside of the park

riding varied terrain compared to riding shit that is the same all the time is very different. skiers on the eastcoast are usuallly more centered to riding manicured parks all the time. compared to a skier on the west coast who has more opportunity to ride different types of off piste shit. being able to hit poppers, find tranny, and land in steep untracked terrain with different variables all the time, is something most park rats can't do as well as well rounded skiers.

Dudes,

Look at Henrik Winstedt and Eric Hjorleifson. No, Eric isn't going to win X slopestyle, but he was the first to hit one of those massive MSP sunset booters when others were sketched, and throws smooth 3 and 7 tail grabs -- and is also one of the sickest big mountain skiers, tech style. Same with Henrik, used to be really good in park, won Freeride Tour last year, crazy MSP seg. You can be good at both hard to be top of both at the same time.

nah off a 50 foot drop i would not huck it unless it was 60 degree or more slope man other wise there would need to be a giant pillow of powder for you to stick it nicely

I'm pretty sure i read most park pros can do dubs (double blue square) and single diamonds no sweat but dub diamonds is really pushing it. I'm sure they're out there though
