I have not been to N* this year yet, but I used to go somewhat frequently. I imagine it is the same.
It is like playing a video game, you just go to every section and choose what you want to do. down rail, flat rail, battleship box. . . . They have quite a few cool jibs. The landings on most of them get bombed out except on the big ones, where only good people hit them. They stay pretty good. The jumps are short and steep.
The mountain as a whole is nothing great. Too many gaypers. Weekends are horrible. And it is pretty damn flat.
northstar is one of my least favorite places in tahoe. Its flat as shit, the people suck, the ski patrol think they are policemen, you have to park a mile away and take a bus to get to the village, and after that you still have to walk a fucking mile to get to through the village. Fucken gay. Go to Squaw or Alpine if you dont want to be skiing groomers all day everday. Oh and northstars park is huge but is usually so littered with snowboarders and shit gets bombed like crazy. Weekends at northstar are a ZOO. Anyway i will be the first to say that i am a N* hater!
Northstar has really good parks... It's also really fun, but most of the time id rather go to boreal which is a small mountain right next to it. The only reason i go to Northstar is cause i have a double pass to there and Sierra. Boreal is all park though. If your ever in south lake tahoe go to Sierra. Its so much fun
the walk through the village takes 2 minutes TOPS
stop complaining
I love Northstar, but if you are going for some BC then dont come, where it lacks in big mountain skiing it has good park. They have small jumps and boxes for beginners so that gapers or beginners stay out of the bigger park with the nice rails and fairly nice jumps. when the park is in full swing they will have 3 big sized booters, a step over, and a halfpipe that i never ride
Northstar is awesome if you are a multi millionaire who rips it up on the bunny hill. Otherwise, it really really sucks. I ski'd it in the 80's, and it sucked then, and it only has gotten a ton worse!
Hell, if you're staying at a house there, might as well ride N* at
least one day. The park will be good in Feb. As mentioned before, do
not go on a weekend, as there is a constant stream of people hitting
features. It can be annoying, unless you like the snaking game.
