185 Nordica Jah Love

140 at the waist? I ride some wide ass skis, but I dont think there is any snow that would really necesitate that. Maybe some AK shit, you'd have to be a really strong skier to take these anywhere else. I'd like to demo them

from what I understand they don't have a rocker, so bascially go much narrower with a rocker for the same float and you are golden... it is just a massive ski to try to control in my opinion.

I ride Donner Parties that are 140 at the waist and have rocker. Not a big deal to ride down groomers.

The wider a ski is does not necessitate deeper and deeper snow, it just makes the ski more surfy feeling.  I rode the Jah Loves in 185 a couple of years ago in two feet of fresh pow and they were amazing.  Super responsive, stable, and adapted to a good range of snow conditions from perfect powder to chopped up snow later in the day.  Definitely a sweet ski.

Guys stop. Your tempting me to get these now, it seems like it would be super fun to ride an animal of a ski like that. Maybe one for my quiver next year... hmmm

They are an awful ski. Who makes a stiff 140mm waisted ski with no rocker? When I rode them it wasn't powdery (I'm sure they are decent there) but they were plain awful everywhere else. I torqued out of the binding (albeit they were markers) 4 times in 3 runs just because the bindings couldn't handle the stiffness + waist size. The Pontoons and Hellbents both ski better on moguls, groomers, slush, etc. They made that ski too fat to ski the rest of the mountain, and too stiff to be a dedicated powder tool. There are no real issues with a 140mm waisted ski but c'mon it's obviously meant for pow so give it some rocker.

There are dozens of skis out there that are much much better. Sorry Nordica, the Jah Love is terrible.

Tough skis to ride IMO. They're too fat, not rockered, and unresponsive.

Granted, I come from riding rockered, reverse cambered skis, but gawd. As if KURO's aren't enough, Jah Loves come out and bring a new level to heavy skiing. If you don't have LIGHT light Light pow, get a rockered ski. You'll love yourself for it.
