duh... but hockey is our thing. Just like you Americans have your guns, baseball, big cities, more than one basket ball team, black president, funny presidents, warm weather, mexico ( you've got that now right) and Twinkies. We have maple syrup, beer and hockey. Leave us the one thing that you Americans can't consume.
I play triple A hockey for the central Ontario wolves, whenever we go to a tournament in Buffalo, or Lake Placid all the American teams are a fucking joke, like I don't understand how they can even qualify to be in triple A. Then I realize that the level of play in other countries just isn't as high..and that Canada pwns everyone at hockey.
Canadian hockey fans a re fucking annoying (I'm Canadian). We lost give the Americans their props, get over it and think what can we do better next year. I love how the national junior team is so idolized in Canada where there are countless senior team with much more heart in other sports that go completely unnoticed.
pretty sure the league is based out of the united states. pretty sure that two canadian teams couldnt make enough money IN canada "the hockey country" and moved to the US.
although i believe the league was founded in montreal. and regardless i have nothing but love for canada i just think its retarded for canadians to get salty over a loss in the world juniors. the game could of gone either way.
Yup. Americans totally deserved the win. They did not have the better players, but they had the better team, especially in terms of a defensive system. Being able to play cohesively and not make glaring errors in coverage is the biggest part of what leads to wins in international tournaments.
The USA could very well win a medal in Vantown. I like their team as much as anyone's except Canada's which is sort of on another level. But again, the best players do not necessarily lead to the best team in this sport.
just curious if youve seen russias roster? pretty ballin if you ask me. but then again i like a more physical minded hockey and the US and canada have that edge over russia
^Everyone is talking up Russia's roster because they have all these great offensive players, but... really it's just one line, or 1.5 if Semin plays well with Kovalchuk. Meanwhile their defense sucks at defense. I don't believe you can win a tournament with pure offense. The American team (like Team Sweden) is actually a hockey team, the Russian team is a whole bunch of scary power play units.
they deserved to lose and im glad they lost. if they would have won, instead of realizing that we played like shit and that it was a fluke we would've went on thinking that we have the greatest team in the world and no one can touch us. now they might actually learn from their mistakes and play the way they should be playing. the goalie played like shit and the defence was useless throughout the tourny. team usa actually played hockey out there, and they played a hell of a game. they deserve the win.
