What do people prefer more these days SPK's of Booters and why?

there are several things to consider here:
1) Gear Talk, this forum exists precisely for threads like this one
2) Searchbar, that little thing one the upper right hand of your screen can help you out.
and 3) Boots are a personal item, whichever fits your foot the best will probably work out the best for you.

these boots are pretty much opposits. SPK's are one of the widest park boots out there( if not the widest) and booters are one of the narrowest( if not the narrowest )

Again, whatever fits, is whatever is best

THe only reason everybody has those is cuz they buy what the pros are marketing..... If anyone of those pros could have any ski boots they wanted they would not all pick SPK's and FULL-TILTS. They will pick whatever feels the best.

It sounds to me like you are thinking about buying ski boots...
GET WHAT FITS YOU... not what fits wallisch's foot.

^this, also spk and full tilts are kinda on opposite ends, if your foot fits a full tilt it will NOT fit in a spk and vice versa. (most likely)

wallisch wore fulltilts before he was sponsored by them. as most pros do. they wear what they like and then contact the sponsor to try to get it for cheaper/free. they promote the companies that they like.

i do agree though on the GET WHAT FITS YOU... not what fits wallisch.

any boot can fit almost any foot. some on people martini walker dumont cant all possibly have fat feet. they get them molded and fit by a professional. on the same hand wallisch wesson and stepp dont all have narrow ass feet. they get payed to wear em and they all work for each one because they all got fitted properly.

i think they are both well designed boots. the spk has some of the best features for park performance(some cool innovative ones), as well the full tilts have had a cult following threw many different brand changes over the years, for a reason it is one of the best boots on the market for certain people. 20 year old space suit technology from 20 year old molds. still the only boot i will wear after retiring about 6 reichle shells
the only thing that makes them fashion boots is the thousands of threads of un educated people that could be avoided by using the SEARCH BAR..

if you get fit properly you will be very happy with what ever boot the fitter and you decide on.

yea i was only joking, they are both good boots and seem to please a lot of people. just that they are both market leaders in park boots and as such people just dive straight in and assume they are the only boots that a park skier can use or that they are the only options disregarding perfectly good boots and possibly better fitting boots in the process.

and to be fair i next time i go for boots i may try ft as i have a narrow low volume foot and they could be perfect, they could not be.

true, but dont throw blind faith at a boot fitter. about 4 years ago one of my shops fit me for a 26.5 when i am cleary a 25.5. boot fitters first agenda is to make sales, second agenda is to get a boot that fits you. you gotta have some knowledge of your own foot before you go buy something

It's because many shopa wanna get rid of undesirable sizes that no one asks for. Plug Boots kids. That's why trusting your boot fitter is a very important thing with getting a good fit.
They tend to take boots that are to big and tape liners or dremel liners when they are to small. Yeah this actually happens, some shops are very dirty.

Is K2 a publicly traded company? If so I think I might take a look at their books. Although I doubt they would be that detailed.


And both boots are simmilar in that they work well for park skiing, but notmuch else.

Word. You people have all summer to sit on NS and read useless threads when you could be looking up boot threads and hearing how boots fit (ie. Sollie is wide and Dalbello+Fulltilt skinny)  so when you get ready in the fall you know a boot to go for. Going to a few shops to get sized is a great idea because when a shop measures you at a "26.5" and 3 other shops measure you at a 27.5 something is up. And believe me they can cram you into boots that are almost 2 sizes to big or small and have you feeling like your in heaven. At least sell that illusion.

spks are much wider than the booters. full tilts are a narrower boot.

hey dont hate, i have a bunch of money and i can pay for it. I like to wear full tilts for jumps and SPKs for rails. Sometimes it gets irritating switching boots each run but i also like to switch skis between runs to.

hey man dont hate, its just how I ski. I change into my SPKs and switch to my Afterbangs with Marker Griffons for rails. For Jumps i change to my full tilts and my Salomon Suspects with FKS

I use one pair of boots for every thing. They are a stiff 2 piece overlap and they work better then either spk's or fulltits

i have spk pro's b/c i have an Fred Flintstone foot- wide and flat.  i tried on every boot in the store and when it came down to it..the spk's fit the best.  However they packed out a ton..more then any other boot i've owned.  so whatever size fits, i suggest going down a smaller one. just my .02. 

bottom line- go to a shop, talk to a legit boot fitter and go with that fits and not what the lastest NS fanboy trend is.
