Government skiing

This is a quote from my history book, "A few alternative lifestyles reject the puritan work effort that is such a part of american culture. Some skiers and surfers, for example, commit themselves to a life defined by the pursuit of pleasure." Just thought that was interesting thing to find in a textbook and a sentence that really describes skiing as we all know it, the pursuit of pleasure (and pow pow).
