they just called for boarding and everyone fucking gets up and stands in line for half an hour... you've already got youre damn seat reserved, its not going to go anywhere... why dont you just chill the fuck out in the much more comfortable waiting area that sit all cramped up on the plane for an hour waiting for everyone else to board?

word i always wait behind. what bugs me too is the instant the fasten seatbelt sign goes off, people are standing up expecting to get out of the airplane immediately. at the same time, by staying seated people will let me get out in front of them because i am before them on the plane making them dicks to not let me go.

i think airplane rides should be way cooler than they are now. seriously everyone just sits in their seat and reads or does shit on their laptop.

there should club music and a dancefloor. and tons of booze and drugs and loose women and sailors. that shit would be dope. fucking party time all up in that shit. the 4 hour flight would feel like 10 minutes.

because no one likes to take a seat beside someone that is already seated.

really depends what seat i have.  i usually get aisle, so i can wait.

it also weirds some people out when they are one of the last and every fucking person is looking at you as you walk down the aisle with your shit.

this also. people need to chill the fuck out. im always the last guy boarding the plane and the last dude getting out of my seat when the doors open... youre going to have to wait ages for your bags to show up anyways...

i think i got it from my dad... hes always showing up to the airport like half an hour before international flights... and numerous times walking to the gate they've been calling our names over the speaker system thing, and he stops to buy a newspaper.

kinda the same at the movie theatre when the movie is over.  Everyone scrambles to get up andd bottleneck the exit, standing there for 10 minutes.  Fuck it,  We just sit, chill, and wait.

i hate the intensity of having an empty seat next to you and looking forward to stretching out and watching every single person come down the aisle and hoping they don't sit next to you. it's always like the last guy that does too, everyone passes, you think you're in the clear, and some fucking fat guido sits next to you

yea. i've been pretty lucky.  last flight i had an aisle seat and the middle seat was empty then a 50ish lady that had the window.  she was nice.  offered me a muffin. i think she wanted to have a conversation, but it was a 7am flight and i had been up all night, so the last thing i wanted was to talk.  felt like a dick, but oh well.

i usually get lucky with getting the entire middle row of 3 on flights to switzerland. nothing beats lying down across the seats with a blanket, some noise canceling headphones, and like 17 pillows to cover strange pressure points from the fucking metal odds and ends on the seat

I try to be the first on because I always carry my luggage on and it's a bitch trying to find an overhead compartment when you're the last one on. Then you have to put it somewhere behind you, so that when you get off you have to fight against the crowd in the aisle to get your bag. Then they think you're the asshole because you didn't want to wait for everyone to get off so you can get your bag. Whatever, my seat is closer to the exit, so I have priority. Selfish fucks.

I agree with this but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact some people bring huge carry ons and need to jam them in overheads before anyone else can otherwise they have to sit with it at their feet... fucking middle america.

if you really cant read it, and if i must explain, why would you take such an unecessary risk that could not only cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars but also valuable time? what do you gain out of arriving 30 minutes before the flight? maybe an hour or two tops of time at home? theres a good chance you miss the flight also, and what happens then? in math terms, this act would be negative EV

much like your/your dad's stupid airport habits, running across a highway is a high risk little reward situation

Running across the highway has a reward?

And I try to be first to get on the plane so I can put my luggage in the overhead and don't have to walk down the aisle with 100s of people awkwardly staring at me.

i have never missed a flight in my life... and im pretty sure my dad has only missed one...


i think you just need to chill the fuck out. the risk/reward of being late for a flight is hardly comparable to that of running across a highway.

I'm going to have to assume that he normally flies out of a smaller airport, cause I know at Sea-Tac at least, just getting through security, especially on busy weekends can take an hour alone. Add that to traveling on the subway to get out to the north satellite where many of the long distance flight gates are and there is no way you are making your flight getting to the airport a half hour early.
