K2 Fujas or obsethed or s3 ?

Hey guys, I go in Utah for 1 week in february and i need a ski that can rip powder, groomers and park. I never skied in deep powder ( im from Quebec) . So which one will be better for powder, groomers and park? Btw im 5'10 and 150 lbs and i ski 176cm dumont if that help. I will mount some marker schizo on the ski. I know the obsethed will be better in pow, but how much better than the fujas or the s3? I don't buy the ski just for one trip, plannig to go to whistler next year. Planning to buy the ski next week . +karma for help.

Well first off i havent skied the s3, but it is a really cool ski, good for pow and the contact points make the ski symmetrical good for park, i am just a little concerned about the tip and tail rocker in the park. i guess you can read reviews of them on this site. 

as for the other two i ski often, the obsethed is a great pow ski but not the best for the park, but still holds well on groomers.  it is the widest of the three. 

the kung fujas does everything. it is the most playful fun ski i have ever been on.  slight tip tail rocker and a bi symetric sidecut so it skis switch the best in my opinion.  rocked in the pow and still held up really well in park.

I just  baught some obsethed's i live in whislter and man they can do everything they charge the steeps and hard packed they shred so well in the pow... there so much fun in the park nice to butter and have a good spinning wieght and on groomers there adequet really being able to hold a firm edge.

Go the obsetheds

I have the S3's. Sick skis. They rip hardpack like crazy, and are great in chop. I've skied them in knee-deep powder and they float really well. I haven't used them in the park yet.

well the fujas is 95 underfoot with the least rocker of all three. i guess it just depends if you want your ski to perform better in powder or in the park, i like the fujas because its really good in both, just not as wide as the obsethed so it wont be as good in the soft snow

The fujas is very playful all over the hill, it has tons of float in deeper pow too but isnt super wide so when you get to the groomers and park you can rip it up too. the fujas will be stiffer than the obsthed as they are pretty soft. dont know much about the s3.

Just going to throw in the Line Blend.

I was looking at the Fujas, I've tried both and I prefer the blend! Would be fantastic with the schizo binding too!

Will try...Skied general inbounds stuff & some crap ...now pow :'(

I tried the Fujas first for a couple of hours. They were my first "wide-ish" ski, but it soon became second nature. It ripped groomers, and blasted its way through crap. Good edge hold. On jumps the extra width really helped with landings and generally inspired confidence all-round. I was pretty much set on the ski.

Then I tried the Blends, which I could get for alot cheaper, didnt like the graphic online, but up close they're sweet! They absolutely destroyed the groomers, and held an edge no problem on ice. The added 5mm?! (lol) only increased the confidence boost. I expected them to be alot stiffer, and as a result less playful, but they had alot of pop and were really fun.

In the end, they both skied great, the blend turning better and skiing quite alot faster. The Fujas probably had a slight advantage in terms of "jib-ability", but the blend's still had enough for me. Weight wise they're both pretty similar, the blend probably lighter.

In the Pow I doubt the tiny amount of rocker would help the Fujas that much, and with the bigger profile of the Blend and a little added stiffness the Blend would probably be better.

With the cheaper price I went with the Blends, Schizo's would have been great, as I think centre for park would work great!

A breakdown:

Groomers: Blend
Park: Fujas
Pow: Even/Blend?

Both are sick, go with the cheapest imo.

Thx for the review of the fujas!!  k+ and did some1 try the fujas in deep pow ? (don't know what is deep for you, but for me it's like 2 feet)

i have the kung fujas and i think there great. they do pretty well in the park, and their great in powder. they have a bit of rocker so they float great. but its only a little bit so it dosnt even effect when i take them in the park.

i dont know if this is good or bad for you, but theyre pretty damn flexible. not as much as the obsethed but still. only downside is ive skied them for only about 16 days or so (new this season) and the tops of the sidewalls are kinda tearing and comin off in places. its not even a big deal though.

the kung fujas is definatly the best if your going to ride only one ski the whole season.

Can you compare the 179 with the 182 lenght of the shogun. I thought 182(from salomon then) was way to long for me. I orderd them for a friend of me, today they arrived. When you measure the vertical lengt they are like 178/179.

Hold up the Kung Fujas base to base alongside a Shogun the same way. Compare the rocker and tail height.

Didn't saw the Kung jet, and I will not get the chance. The freeski scene in belgium isn't quite big. They don't have the Kung anywhere I live. 169 is to short. But i gues 179 (in real it is 183 I saw on ns(?)) is to long. I'm 178, ski more and more in the park, but don't like you. Just doing the 3's and rails. And maybe 5's end this season. The arv in 175 is to short, so i gues I will go for the S3 in 177 unless you think the Kung Fujas in 179 is perfect. I have to order them in a few days because i will go on holiday in 3 weeks.

the 177 S3 measures short i think. I think I rode them yesterday and they were only a little longer than the 169 obsethed, about 174 with the obsethed about 173. I am in the same situation, i didnt love the s3 in pow or in the park. they felt a bit dead to me. I think I am probably going for the obsethed. Does anyone know if the obsethed has metal in? I am worried they will feel a bit dead? Has anyone skied them at core centre, I cant afford schizos.

I have the S3's as my only ski. I have them mounted at +3 from traditional so there better for rails and due to the early rise tip and tail I dont lose any floatation in pow. I ski pow more than park but still one of the best all around I think

i have the obsethed, mounted at +4 from the standard mount, which is 3.5 back from true center, and they're awesome. i've been rockin them for hitting pretty much everything except rails. i haven't had the luxury of skiing them in any substantial pow yet, but they were fun in a few inches, they rip groomers, they're fun to jump on. they're a bit wide for skiing bumps, but they are 105 in the waist, so i just use my park skis for riding bumps. i definitely recommend +4 for the obsethed (in the 179). if you're going for the 169, i'd probably go +3 instead.

im with this. the fujas will be the one that best holds up in the park, but prob wont be quite as good as the other two in powder. i skiied the obsetheds for a while, and found them good off piste, but a little too soft, so didnt really go hard on groomers, and i wouldnt be too excited about taking them to the park.

didnt you say you had dumonts too? why dont you take those for park aswell, then you can eliminate that from the equation?

So im going to buy one pair of ski in 2 days, which one will be better for Utah condition? (im from quebec) So i want to know How the Kung fujas are in the powder ? and the obsether is Seth ski, so they are made to rip Ak line and deep powder no? or should i consider them for one ski quiver for my Utah trip ?

I would say the obSETHed, I demoed some and they were very good all around, a good one ski quiver. But I also tried the jj and bent chetlers and thought that they are the best 1 ski quiver any skier could have.

Really i dont think you can go wrong with either option but im a little biased because i have the fujas but ive never ridden the obsethed. In my oponion the fujas rip everywhere. They are currently my one ski quiver and i love em. i got them mounted 3 back and they float well in the deep stuff but can still shred a groomer and throw down in the park. Theyre a ton of fun man and i would def recomend them.

Well if you going to snowbird, alta, brighton, or solitude, get the obsethed. Its a perfect one ski quiver for out west, it has amazing float, they are really easy to ski and is stable at higher speeds. But if your going to park city get the kung fujas or just bring your dumonts. Dont know a whole lot about the s3 but it seems like a really good ski, but never skied it

Definitely the Kung Fujas, just an amazingly fun ski...groomers, pow, terrain park, they just kill it.  Also, if you can afford it, get the Schizo bindings as well, makes the Kung Fujas even more versatile.  You will not need another ski, unless you are going Heli-Skiing in Alaska.
