Ah - not true! The only difference is in the type of style. In aerials, they call style "form" and its about how penciled out and tight your body is.
We apply the same things (albeit in different manners) such as:
-Body must be tucked
-Skis must be crossed
-Skis must be grabbed
The progression of different flips and spins will not make us into aerials - we already are aerials. We're just a fresher updated version of it.
It would be like tie dye - If you tie dyed a shirt, but did it in a different way that was cooler than the way your dad did it - You didn't invent tie dye, but you made your own version of it thats dope, and the way your dad does it is lame.
Because yes... the dads of today were part of the hard drinking, hard partying, freestyle movement in the '60s.
We just need to make sure that with the entrance of doubles and triples into the sport that the same regulations that needed to be self-imposed for safety reasons.
And the next time you want to hate on someone's style for being different... remember that the lack of acceptance of being different is what took the FREE out of classic freestyle.
If you don't accept change and diversity, we will be simply aerials with grabs.
