Field is more legit than box? try playing 5 on 5 in a tiny arena in the middle of the summer, its much hotter than outside, its like an oven in there. In box you need to think way quicker, you need to know where your passing the ball before its in your stick. Not to mention the contact, unlike field, if im on defense and the player im covering doesnt have the ball ( providing there past the blue line) i can still pound on them, try standing there waiting for a ball, watching the play while your arm is getting beat on. Your only suposed to push the person your defending put refs never call it. Box lacrose is also quicker paced, its back and forth back and forth, the only ones who experience this in field are the middis( what i play )Also once you have the ball you have 30 seconds to get shoot on net or theres a change in possesion, and you obviously have to hit the net which brings me to me next point, the nets are 4x4 and we have massive goalies, im not talking NLL there nets were widened to appeal to you americans so the league would grow because many found it too hard to score. You have to have snipess to score, that or quick passing to moove the goalie out of position or you have to be bale to throw dirty fakes. Lastly we have fights, unlike field where if you swear you get an un-sportsman like conduct, in box more often or not ( depending on age group ) if your chirping someone you better be ready to drop the gloves, last time i saw a field fight it was just two guys with there helmets and gloves still on just swinign like idiots, thats not how you fight at all.
THIS BEING SAID I still really like field, its just a different game. Canadian box players can shoot the lights and im not saying field players have harder shots ( its debatable because in box its more where you put the ball than shot speed ) but you guys can shoot from further out, which is a given because it isnt necessary in box.
thats my rant, im not trying to start a hate war, im just having an argument :) i respect field players alot to, i am one after all. you guys are also way more skilled with your off hand.
BY THE WAY IM TALKING CANADIAN BOX, not the "box" or "indoor" you have in the US im talking real box. Not even the NLL which is, again, modified so its less of a change for field players. Real box is way more rutheless.
