Anyone else not like new skis/ new shit in general?

I hate new skis. They're too stiff, the edges are too sharp, and they're too shiny. I much perfer old skis, all nice and broken in and softened up. Edges all nice and rounded, camber all gone, all ruffed up looking. Last season I had some new crisp 09 ARV's and I tried to ride them over and over, but everytime I put them on, I would take 1 run and go back to my car to get my old sticks. I just couldn't handle it.
But it's not just skis, I'm all about old broken in stuff in general. Even if I have brand new nice stuff, I always wear my old, crappy stuff. I've got some wicked old dunks that have holes in the soles, and I wear that shit 24/7. I've got a new pair of dunks, but I never ever wear them because they're all new and stuff. There's just something really nice about wrinkles, and worn-ness.
So yeah...I like old, broken in shit. I'll be rocking my 06-07 ARVs until they explode, even though I've got brand new Anthems chilling. Anyone else have this issue/tendency?

Yeah I know what you mean, but for me it's just more the durability thing. When you have a brand new pair of skis that cost you like 700 bucks your going to be all careful to keep them perfect, whereas an old pair you just don't really care.

same deal, i totally agree. I really want new park sticks but don't want to go through the long process of wanting to baby them and break them in. So i guess i'll put them off a while longer until my anthems break someday..

dude, i hate dunks for the first couple of days.
i have the current pair in wearing that aren't so white anymore, broken in and comfy
then i just went to a nike outlet store in vail and bought two new pairs on dunks.
they are stiff and way to white and feel weird without having been worn. i dont even know how to lace them up correctly

Just think of it this way: all of your stuff was new at some point, so you just have to break them in.
