- Seth Morrison

- Shane McConkey

- JP Auclair

- JF Cusson

- Vincent Dorion

- Mike Douglas

- Candide Thovex

- Tanner Hall

- Jon Olsson

without any of these guys, skiing would not be where it is today in terms of tricks, style, equipment, etc.

mixing these names with ones such as McConkey, Douglas, and Candide is just disrespectful. Sure they are pushing the sport. But the aformentioned 3 changed skiing and virtually reshaped not only a sport but an industry as a whole.

i forgot about Skogen. he literally invented switch rodeo 720s - with style no less!! no one did them before him. but his career ended way, way, way too short with his broken leg; and he never came back the same, so I gotta leave him off the list.

C.R. Johnson is a good thought, too; but he did not bring anything to the sport that wasn't being done already ... except for a 1440 at Squaw back in '99.

I'd love to get Mike Douglas or JP Auclair's opinion on this topic. they'd have a great perspective as to who has been the most influential over the last 12 years.

I'd say Pollard more because he really pushed the super wide, super soft ski that is everywhere today.

when peps 1242 segment came out not everyone was freaking out. Don't get me wrong looking back it was a very innovative segment. But when it came out it was not the best segment of the movie (in most peoples opinions), let alone of the year.

I think people make a bigger deal of it now than we ever did in the past. sick segment though.

What about Erik Roner?   He changed the sport by adding base jumping in to it and has brought more attention to big mountain skiing.   The list you put together was pretty solid though.

People are throwing Wallish on the list but none is speaking about Mik D ?!

Wallish wouldn't be skiing as he is if it wasn't for Mik D...
And for all of you putting name such as Hornbeck Casabon or Parry, I just hope for you that you're 13 and just started skiing caus' it's kind of disrespectful to put those name next to Candide or Tanner or any of the legends listed above. So learn you shit.

and in the mean time, let me lol for a bit.

Definitely. 

I would also add Kent Kreitler.  Kreitler was killing big AK lines and doing spins in the park and off of kickers 10 years ago.  He was one of the first skiers to go into the park, one of the first guys to be great at both big mountain and park. 

Both Nobis and Kreitler threw down segments a decade ago that stand up to the test of time.  They destroyed AK faces in a way that still merits video parts. 

Kreitler's movie, Reverance, is awesome.  See it if you have not.

mike d, tanner, candide, wallisch-all changed the park game forever

nobis, mcconkey- changed the way backcountry is skied (nobis on the carve, mcconkey for his ski designs)

pep- landing switch in pow in 02'-03' enough said

i think a little later down the road id add travelling circus- most innovative rail skiers, show people that they can have fun skiing literally anywhere

Wallisch is good and setting trends, but thats where it stay for now definitely not influential.  Glen Plake is definitely And Trevor Peterson? Fucking crazy doug coombs?

Not influential? You know how many kids started skiing after they saw his superuknown entry? Its exactly what got me into freeskiing and there's probably thousands of other skiers out there who also stared in awe at the video, influencing many of them to start skiing.

I didnt say he wasnt influential.  Just not as much.  Everyone talks about him on here, so you always see his name non stop.  Its not like freestyle skiing wasnt a big sport before Wallisch.  He may have brought more people in but same with lots of riders.  Anyone that doesnt ski, would be equally amazed at most modern urban and park skiers.  The other guys listed built things up to where they are.  DC, Tanner, Pep.  You think Wallisch would be the same without them? I bet he watched those guys too.    

If Wallisch was your inspiration to start freeskiing, then you probably dont have a firm grasp on the last 12 years of skiing.  He may be way better then the most influential, but basically all his tricks are based off theirs.

Everyone saying wallisch doesnt need a part in this list needs to remember what site their on. Your on newschoolers remeber?. Tom is prob the definition of newschool. Hes revolutionized park skiing style and inspired alot of young kids to mimic his fluidity and calm style of park skiing. His balance is unmatched, and his progression is off the hook.

for those of you who are saying no SIMON DUMONT...watching the movie Transition by POOR BOYS. you'll see why he is. going pro at 13years old and traveling 8 months out of the year. his rivalry with Tanner Hall, setting world records with half pipe, and being invited to JOSS. TOM WALLISCH, HENRIK HARLAUT, and TANNER HALL should be added. T-Wall and Harlaut have pretty much made the park seen the way that everyone's skiing to day: Tall T's, Afterbang, Gangsta. even though i'm not a fan of Hall, he should be up. he was there at the very beginning of X-Games, and the whole thing
