People seem so intent on cleaning up the forum the last little bit that they actually thought it was a good idea to make eheath a mod. It's a terrible idea. But that being said, deleting everything remotely stupid and banning people who say dumb things is actually in our power. The problem is, then you guys get SUPER pissy and call us nazis and complain and whine and moan about that, instead. So I am curious, and I think I have asked before but, an updated poll:
Which do you want? Heavy moderation that gets rid of all dumb threads and bans people without warning for being idiots (in which case no, we do not have time to explain these actions, hell I don't have time now), or dumb threads and annoying people?

Another thing that would be nice is a ban on "Which Boot?" threads in Gear Talk. There is no purpose of asking for bootfitting advice over the internet. It just doesn't work. More importantly, I fear that NS is essentially going to put the local ski shops out of business, if we keep having kids coming to NS instead of going to a bootfitter. The local shops need our help more than ever right now. In addition, I think that the community needs to foster a sense of duty to help keep our shops going--after all, we are the skiers that they try to support.
Bottom Line: Moratorium on "Which Boot?" threads in Gear Talk?

I completely agree. It is all about the shape of your foot, and the only way that you can know for sure is to try it on at a shop with a legit bootfitter.
