People seem so intent on cleaning up the forum the last little bit that they actually thought it was a good idea to make eheath a mod. It's a terrible idea. But that being said, deleting everything remotely stupid and banning people who say dumb things is actually in our power. The problem is, then you guys get SUPER pissy and call us nazis and complain and whine and moan about that, instead. So I am curious, and I think I have asked before but, an updated poll:

Which do you want? Heavy moderation that gets rid of all dumb threads and bans people without warning for being idiots (in which case no, we do not have time to explain these actions, hell I don't have time now), or dumb threads and annoying people?

i like what holte said and im all for stricter modding. Its not like the trolls and idiots in nsg do anything for the site so why does it matter if they get offended when you delete their stupid shit.

yeah if they arent providing anything positive to ns we shouldnt care if they get pissed for making bad decisions and posting silly stuff. id much rather have a stricter site that actually educates me or does something rather than interior crocodile

Exactly. I've been trying to avoid NSG for the last week or so. It's becoming 4chan-esque in there. So many pointless threads and posts that do not benefit the community in any way.

In reality, the only stuff that gets deleted from BST are threads advertising someones business whether it be custom hats or otherwise, who hasn't paid NS for rights to advertise. Otherwise i'll delete shit threads with no info/pics/prices etc..basically rubbish goes, anything else stays and comes with 'buyer beware , have a nice day' painted all over it.

NSG is nearly impossible to moderate. If it's non-ski related then it belongs there, but then again what deserves to be deleted if it doesn't break any rules..Subjectiveness plays a part when moving shit in and out of NSG

Mods have been taking a lot of shit lately, and I know the job sucks most of the time. But stuff like that is appreciated by me, and I'm sure a lot of other members.

No kidding man, you want to see the progression of Newschoolers? Go to my profile and look at my pics one by one.  Last to first.  It start in 05 with little jumps and backflips and horrible pics and we got support and props, by last year we were doin 80ft hips with 5s and doubles and just got shot down and rated  like 1s.  Not the place it used to be.   I say anyone that does that cool story hansel or posts "first" should get banned second offense. Its just a waste and it pissed you off on good threads.

I thinik the older members have more valuable input. To be honest I left for like a year just because so many things got so old and annoying and there so much hating going on.  It just wasnt fun to share anymore.

wait to step up mods. I really appreciate some of these stupid bullshit threads getting deleted, and stupid members getting banned who make said threads. I like the idea of if they make an alias they get an IP ban.

So in the last 2 days, I've read 2 threads (one about politics and one about dressing normal vs. tall T) and both of them ended with people agreeing.

Politics and Clothing style. These have been fought over for years on NS.

Something is definitely changing on NS. Not sure if it has to do with the crackdown on trolls/4chan shit, but I like it. People can have real discussions. I'm just going to give the credit to NS and think that it's taking the steps in the right direction to make this a better skiing/winter website.
