Alright so I go to UVIC right now because I didn't get into UBC. I think my marks will be good enough to transfer but I will need a place to live. What neighbourhoods are nice, and relatively close to UBC campus, but still affordable for students. Do most people at UBC live on campus or in vancouver?
I'd say more people live off campus rather than on campus, but most of the cool people live on campus. If you don't have people to live with already, you should apply for housing on campus, because renting an apartment or a basement off campus by yourself would be really expensive. for neighbourhoods, kitsilano is dope, there are nice neighbourhoods around 16th near ubc too. basically the whole point grey area is very nice.
Everyone pretty much lives in Kits or thereabouts. If you're rich, and/or your parents pay your rent, you live in Yaletown. I would live near burrard street largely because it means the fastest route to Whis.
Is the commute to campus good from yaletown? I do not really care about whistler I just want easy bus access to UBC, and want like walking distance to groceries/bars.
I'm gonna have a car but hopefully only will use it for skiing.
I live in kits and there's a bunch of ubc students living across the street from me. there's 2 grocery stores with 3 blocks and 4th ave/ Broadway both have express bus access to ubc.
anywhere on 4th, broadway, or 16th, from campus to around granville will be convenient and probably pretty nice. i live in a basement suite in west point grey right by spanish banks and i pay 450, not too bad.
