Alright, so NS I NEED YOUR HELP!
I love gaming online with my Xbox 360. Although, the past 7 months I've been noticing HUGE lag spikes when connecting through a wire to my Netgear WGR614 router. It's so FUCKING FRUSTRATING because I lag out of NEARLY EVERY GAME! It's unbearable anymore, so I've come to you for help. If someone helps me fix my connection I will send them 5 bucks and a shit ton of stickers.
I have a Netgear WGR614 router.
I connect through a wire from the router to Xbox
I have CONSTANT lag spikes, that lag me out of the game
I have tried unplugging the router, same problem.
I have tried connecting to the Modem, same problem.
I have reset my modem and unplugged, same problem.
I have called my ISP Time Warner Cable, told me to reset my router and I'll be fine, same problem.
Someone please tell me how to fix this.
The reward is 5 dollars stickers, and a happy kid. :)

Well one thing you could do is try to access your router's configuation settings and see what you can do to try to stabilize your connection.
1. Get on a computer that is connected to the router, wirelessly or wired.
2. Open your browser.
3. Enter [192.168.1.1] in the address line, without the brackets. This is the Configuration IP Address for most Netgear routers. If this doesn't work, you might need to look up the IP address for your router online.
4. Restore to factory default settings or mess with relevant settings as you see fit.

im figuring that he has done the reset through a computer like that as he has said that he tried resetting and unplugging it.
but if you haven't two oh seven, i would also suggest that as it is the only foolproof plan to get back on the internet with my router at home. i think it might be a netgear too. however, thats just for my laptop, not an xbox.

i had a problem with lagging online in general, i then bought a bunch of microfilters that you put in phoneline socket and connect the router wire to that
the filters block out most of the unnecessary interference and make your connection more stable and slightly faster

You might just have a shitty router. I suggest maybe getting a linksys or Dlink router, ive never had any problems with mine.
