Hart f 17 mogul skis

so anybody on newschoolers rip bumps ? Last season i started skiing bumps, and now i relized i love bumps more then anything else. So i was wondering if anybody owns these, or has any solid reviews on them? I do have park skis but how do these fare outside of the bumps ? Because these are expensive skis, and after my invaders are done i won't be able to get other another pair of skis for a while.

Not many mogul skiers on NS, because there aren't many mogul skiers period.

Not that a good bump line isn't fun, and not that there is a better way to learn to ski, because there isn't. But not many bumpers, and not many reviews.

not many good skiers on ns to be honest, lots of park kids.

maybe try tgr or even epicski?

Well I love bumps. They're a ton of fun. But I don't know anything about those. Though anything long, straight, and skinny will do good in the bumps imo.

my brother has them, and they do very good in the bumps

but one thing thats true about most mogul skis is that they suck outside the moguls, so unless you plan on competing theyre not worth it

well i already do compete at low levels, and this year i planned on really going the distance, and put the effort down to get to some bigger comps. I

t's true there aren't many bump skiers on ns, i was thinking about that after i posted...  thanks guys for your posts.

maybe on NS there are very few
but i have 3 friends, and know like 5 people just in my town that are competitive mogul skiers, like legit freestyle olympic stuff.

dont get harts they are a very old style ski..... barley any side cut...

 and yes u do need a good sidecut for now days mogul skiing, try looking at  k2 mamba, dynastar twister, and if your willing to get a high quality ski go IDone  skis....

more side cut on mogul skis?
definitely not. mogul skis are basically small, narrow pieces of wood that are meant to be easy to move between moguls with. side cut is pretty unimportant when it comes to moguls since its all in your legs and knees

when i get some  money i'm going to pick up a pair of these for sure. I didn't like those dynastars, or any of those skis you posted really. The iDones where sick, but for 1000 i dont have that money.  Even tho the harts are expensive. But i'll hopefully try and find a good deal somewhere.

I don't believe the sidecut is very important considering you use your legs and knees and slide between the bumps kind of thing. 

on the Hart website it says if there are no dealors near you to email them. Anybody think i could strike a bit of a deal with them ?  eh, it's worth a shot anyways ahaha.

I love skiing bumps, haven't done it on a team in the last 7 years or so. It seems like a lot of kids skiing bumps now are using normal park skis mounted at recommended. My pipe cleaners mounted at -5 kill it in the bumps.

i use my invaders right now mounted at center.  It just kind of seems right if i'm going to get into the bump scene more too accutaly use proper bump skis.

ok so i'm wondering directed to anyone who has these skis; how do these fare on some groomers ? i'm aware there not ment for these or park but im wondering how these would be, i mean i've got invaders, but im loosing the interestt in park. My park only has about 20 runs, a park thats biggest jump is like 4 foot kicker. So im just kind of wondering how they would be on some little park jumps and a few non-steep groomer runs?

do not get these skis so many of the mogul kids at my mtn have them an dmore than half are having to send them in on warranty due to delamination and core breaking and hart is a pain in the ass to deal with warranty wise

Dunno if this helps, but i used to ski Dynastar Assaults everywhere, if you can ski well, you can get around on them just fine. If you really want to get into bumps, you need a bump ski. If you want to rip the park and the rest of the mountain, enjoyably, you will need something else as well.

im not hating but the first place u use to absorb is ur anckles , u need a sidecut to do this if u look at dale beggs skiing(number 1 in the world) u will see he carves down the bumps.... u dont need a massive sidecut but u do need some.... also vokl use the gs ski with a fibre glass topsheet for there mogul ski

haha lies. obviously he doesnt have them he didnt say one thing about the performance or anything. I could say "i have them there really easy to ski bumps on". its like me saying i have the antidogmas they are a real good park ski.

You're completely wrong unless you are talking about the ones from like 10 years ago. 

The newer Harts made by Nordica have more sidecut than any of the other skis you listed.  They are an okk ski and can be picked up slightly cheaper through the mogulskiing.net store. 


If you decide you want the IDONES send me a pm and I can get you in touch with the rep out in Colorado (the ONLY way to get them in the states with a warranty).


If you are just getting into bumps the Twister will be the best ski for you.  They are much more forgiving than the K2, Volkl, and ID.  The sidecut on this ski is perfect for someone learning short swing turns which are needed for the bumps.  They will be by far the best ski for you.

Yea good point harts are nice and way better than back 10 years ago. I've ridden volkl dragon slayers and they are nice for bumbs, but like said earlier they are not much fun outside the bumbs but you can get used to them

I have a friend with theses skis. i was surprised when he told me they were a bump ski. they have a ton of side cut and look quite similar to a slalom ski. the one complaint that he has with them are the metal plate in them makes them quite heavy. them being heavy would usually not be a problem however since they are a bump ski the weight is a problem in the bumps. also hart is super good on their warranty.

another recommendation would be the volkl wall mogul ski. also with a ton of sidecut and they cruise groomers and even in the park as well as bumps.

Haha yeah I had those literally ten years ago. They're stiff and they dominate bumps. But they're not twin tipped, so don't expect to ski park on them. Also they don't have much sidecut so they don't carve very hard. But they are very good bump skis indeed, super skiiny. Also I remember they were not very durable.

i've been in bumps since last year, so i'm not exactly a newb in the bumps, but not great yet. I've been looking around the mogulskiing,net forums.  Could this guy from IDone get me a bit of a deal ? Or could i still work something out with him considering i live in canada? I'll shoot you a pm with this same thing incase you don't read this.

I would just get a good pair of all-mountain sticks.  Most mogul skis suck outside the moguls, so unless your competing competitively they are not really worth it IMO.  An all mountain ski will be pretty good in the moguls and tear it up everywhere else too.

several of my old bros on the team use them. theyre stiff and skinny. dont EVER land switch but they seem to be fine in the bumps

that's the point of them to be stiff and skinny.... I know not to land switch on them They aren't twins.  Being fine in the bumps is the whole point of the ski man, they are a "bump" ski after all.

You asked how mogul-specific skis fare outside the bumps because you won't be able to get another pair of skis for awhile...so I recommended an all-mountain ski over a mogul ski because they perform pretty good in the bumps and really good everywhere else.  Did I miss something?

yes, but i also said i had my own park skis. THere fine, and i can get around on them. I did point out the fact i already competed, and i was debating on what mogul skis i could get (i wanted to bring mogul skiing up a level for me) that i could use around everywhere else, when the time comes my park skis are fucked. But my main use for them would still be moguls.

sure this thread is old.

but honestly dont buy harts if you are NOT competeing in moguls.

pros

- they are super light. i mean super light. you need to buy like head mojo binding for because anyother binds will actually unbalance the ski. which in moguls is crucial.

- they are super whippy. this means youll get a nice kick for when hit the mogul

- they look mega pro

- they are front heavy tilting the skis forwards. this is why you need really light bindings with them

- life time warranty, if you buy them online.
Cons

- you cant ride with them anywhere else literally.

- They are super thin/ side wall is really short which will mean that when you try carving with them, your boot wil actually hit the snow, and then youll bail.

- they break pretty easily but if you buy online thats ok you get manufactueres warranty

- bases suck. they scratch even when you baby them. i scratched my base doing a lob and it whent like accross the ski, which then got bigger and bigger and bigger until i could ski anymore on them. i sent them to hart and they bailed on me.

all in all, its a sick ski,but the head mojo mogul is way better just looks really gay

Does anyone know how ON3P Jeronimos will hold up in moguls?  I'm sure they'll hold up well, I just want to be sure.  They're 126-96-120.  They're not too fat but they aren't mogul skis either.  Any help would be appreciated.

ok heres review I guess.
they are deffy 5/5 skis.

They are amazing on groom and really easy to maneuver

perfect amount of flex and really lively

hold your edge on the bump downturn, there is no slipping (not sure how to phrase that but you know what I mean, I hope)



OVERAL- get them, they are great.

Do you have the 181 or the 171?  I got the 181.  I think I heard somewhere that the 2010-2011 skis are going to be 10% lighter because of them using a new bamboo or something like that.  I hope that's true because  I'm not 100% sure.
