what a joke of a judge. 8 years??? how can someone be allowed to put an 18 year old in jail for 8 years because of GRAFFITI and POT. people assault people and do really fucked up stuff that actually directly hurts people and get way less than that. YES I KNOW, it was reduced to 2 years, but the fact remains that that judge is a fucking JOKE.

that doesn't make this less ridiculous. those charges are more or less harmless. and dont give bullshit about how he fucked up lives by painting a wall. my friend was stabbed a beat up and all the people who did it got out in a few months. the legal system is so messed up. i am offended that you can justify being alright with this by saying it was by the books. this wont make things better.

Sorry, but our justice system is a injustice system.  Guy in california, has prescription from his doctor for marijuana, follows law put in by voters.  Gets 6 years in prison. 

14 year year old girl, takes picture of HER OWN breast, uploads it to her myspace page, gets charged with BOTH distributing child porn and making child porn, and has to register FOR LIFE as a sex offender.  FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE.

I heard about that. Our judicial system has been fucked up for years, and hasn't been getting better. Judges with prejudices against certain things, or the will to make a "statement" out of people.
I'm not  trying to say they shouldn't have given him anything. But that's fucking ridiculous. There people that get hit by crazy sentances and end up with a longer stretch than someone whos murdered.

get off your high fucking horse, I write a lot of graffiti and I could go into the issue of public domain and advertising vs. "graffiti". Not everyone approaches things as rigidly as you, but if you don't make mistakes you can't really gain any wisdom either.

The whole judicial system is fucked if you have the money you can get away with anything.
And the prison system dosent rehabilitate anyone it just turns petty criminals into harden criminals. If we spent a fraction of the money spent imprisoning people and put it to improving schools and adding after school programing in the "at risk area" crime would drop big time and we would save a ton in the long run.
Ive know enough kids getting busted for the same shit get of with 20 hours of CC its bs

that judge is fukd! i mean even though it was reduced to two years its still a lot, and i know people who have gotten away with slaps on the wrist for first offence and community service but this guy even says he has changed... i mean wtf? for a few tags like even though taggin is like the worst part of graffiti its still something that every graffiti writer has.. a tag. if you look at the people that are famous graffiti artists and made their carreer illegaly, they dont get shit for it because they are now famous for it. if graffiti was more accepted as an artform there wouldnt be shit like this going around, because it would be mor appriciated from the begining and might bring more legal walls for people to practice on.

Dobie you can argue fairest but it doesn't mean it's in anyway legit. Saying it's more fair than somewhere else doesn't cut it, they really need to do something about it. Shit like this is ridiculous.
