thats some fucking bullshit, i can understand maybe like 3 months and a ton of community service but 8 YEARS? This guys not gonna be out till hes 26 hes missing out on some of the best years of his life. This judge is also a bitch with no remorse as seen in the video, i really feel for this kid +vibes. also, the fucking town is like pumped that this kid got 8 years, what a bunch of assholes. /rant

That is completely fucked, I feel horrible for the kid. i for one believe in second chances. He completely deserves SOME jail time, and paying for the damages he causes but 8 years for an 18 year old kid doing graffiti is rediculous. Im not sure if it seemed liek this to anyone else but the judge looked to be really pissed off about this, like she had some personal attachment to the case? She got really into it when she was yelling and it seems to me like graffiti especially pisses her off, or maybe her house or fence got tagged or a friends and she has a little biased out look.

Since when has rehabilitation been one of the most important pillars in the criminal justice system? There's is absolutely no rehabilitation in prison...it makes prisoners worse than they were before and institutionalized.

yes there is too rehabilitation. and just like everything else in the world its a matter of if the person wants it to work or not. A lot of the guys in there want out. not to do what they did again, but because its hell. and they understand it is not fucking worth it to go in there again.

Even two years is an extremely harsh sentence for graffitti. My friend was recently caught doing a pretty big tag on a grocery store, he was also caught with an ounce of weed. He wasnt even put in jail for it...

A buddy's brother of mine got in trouble for tagging a bunch of things, including a cop car, and didn't get very much jail time (just a couple days) granted he was a minor at the time. good to see the kids sentence reduced. But that judge was a total bitch and acting quite unprofessional in the first video.

I really doubt that this kid is a model citizen and honor roll student. Without knowing this kids background, you can't say a sentence is is isn't too harsh. This could be this kids 3rd strike. Considering he was charged with with 3 felonies, I'd say 2 years is getting off pretty easy. And fuck graffiti and tagging. 99% of it looks like shit.

Kid's life is in no way ruined. Everyone has a criminal record these days.

So the kid is going to do one year. Sucks but its definitely not the worst thing the us judicial system has done in the last year. In fact I'm sure its no where near the worst thing the us judicial system did in the last day. Or in the last 5 minutes.

How they get you so hard is they keep a record of your tags. If you kids are out there tagging, and you use a signature, be aware that if you do get busted there is a good chance of you getting busted for everything you have ever done, because they keep that shit on file.

Well his sentence got reduced to 2 years as someone pointed out earlier in the thread. Most people generally get out early on good behavior in about half the time of their actual sentence so thats where I got that 1 year from.
