I've thought it about it and definitely want to do it someday. I thought i would start off by climbing the tallest mountain in every state first, so 50 mountains in total, might take awhile but i think its a pretty cool accomplishment and i would start off small and gradually work my way up.
I think it would be amazing. The highest I've ever done is wedge mountain which is 2892 meters or 9488 feet. I hope to some day do Denali, it's a goal to someday summit it in my life.
Not to rain on your parade, but only like... 10 states have worthy tallest peaks to climb, all in the west. Most states have really low points (ie florida) or the highest point is occupied by a road, building, etc, or attained by a wee little trail.
Mt Kahtahdin in Maine will also be a challenge if you do it during the winter months. You are required to have a 4 person team at minimum and all of the necessary safety gear and knowledge to use it and climb safely.
