Is it possible you put bindings on a ski if they have been mounted to the size you need.

like there are holes where the screws should go???

the ski has been drilled 3 times in different places.

is it ok to mount bindings on them even if there are holes where the screws are going.

like putting screws in the pre existing holes?

i think what hes trying to say is that if a ski has previously been mouned to a size hat you need do you have to go and ge a remount.

well i see 2 major problems with this. 1. The screw pattern of the new binding might not be the same as the previous one and secondly, i just see a lot of room for error here so id take it to a shop or someone who knows what they are doing.

skis mounted three times do become very shitty...my skis edge blew out on a stupid pvc pipe rail and the core and edges shifted and turned into a ski that was not rideable

i can never remember what its called but you can take your skis to your local shop and have the holes filled up.  maybe then you can drill into them?

Reality, the skis make break and they may not.  Shops have these hard little plugs that they fill in old screw holes with.  You definitely want to make sure the old screw holes are water tight.  As long as you are drilling into one of those plastic plugs and you put epoxy or good wood glue in the holes where the new mounting screws will go it should be OK.

You don't drill into plugs. You use plugs to fill and seal old binding holes that you are no longer using.

If you are trying to mount into existing holes (assuming the pattern is the right one for your bindings), you simply try mounting into the holes. If the screw holds when you tourque hard on the screwdriver, then you will be fine. If the screw overturns under force, (stripped hole), then you will want to get some heli-coil inserts.
