so today my skis got stolen.

walked inside for 2 minutes and came out to find my skis no where in sight.

so to the person who stole them.

I lock mine up every time I take them off, always, regardless of why I'm taking them off. If they leave my sight, the lock goes on.

This person shall get -k in some form or another for stealing your skis.

Tell shops or other places that might end up with them what the skis look like so they can be on the look out.

that sucks so bad dude, i would be pissed, cause i dont really have enough money to jus go out and get another pair....i usually try not to spend that much time in the lodge for that reason

everytime i take my skis off, i split them. one ski one pole goes one place, the other goes somewhere else and flipped. You don't have to outsmart the predator, just outsmart the other prey.

when i take off my skis i take one and give it to a friend im skiing with he gives me one of his and we clip the mix matched pair together and put them on the rack apart from each other.  greatly reduces the chances of someone snagging skis if it isnt a pair haha

I leave my skis against the glass in the chalet when i go to Glen, and that has solved the problem thus far, however they are 3 year old heads and have no edges, so i dont think anyone really wants mine

that shit happened to one of my buddies at glen eden. we realized that you needed a helmet to go in the park, so we decided to go inside so my buddy could get his helmet. we got down, went behind some lil shed thing and burried our shit under the snow. we went in for literally 2 minutes and when we came out my buddy's board was gone. my skis were still there so im thankful for that but i was still pretty rattled. i cant believe people actually stoop so low as to steal other people's shit. get a job and buy a snowboard/skis you fucking douche bag. have a little bit of respect.

dude that sucks. some idiot tryed to steal my poles a few days ago. but they stole one of mine, one of the poles from the person next to me. they were both different colors, plus mine are really short and those were long. idiot.

This is massively on the increase now - hills need to start doing something about it - you pay your money for tickets, season passes etc.... at lodges etc, they need to put staff around outside, just to watch what goes where and by whom.... just something visible to try and stop this shit.... it seems far too easy to lift a pair of ski's these days.... maybe just people wearing big bright vests with SECURITY on or some shit to act as a deterrant...

This is a great idea.  Chances are the dickhead who stole them will have to get the bindings adjusted or have them remounted.  I would hustle up too, because they might be sitting in a shop already with a ticket on them for a remount.

Sorry for the dub post - but they do random spot checks on you to make sure your season pass is legit - maybe, when you buy your season pass, they can chip you ski's or something, to match your pass.... then if someone steals them, they can be identified...

I dunno, but with technology these days, there has to be a solution... fuck me, cctv outside of lodges would help... it's a sad day when this needs to be done, but it does need to be done, sh*t is getting stolen every week now.... time to start putting pressure on hills.... what are they doing to protect your expensive kit... that you pay them to use on their mountain....

At my home mountain they have a complimentary ski and board check. It's a gated off area with a bunch of racks and like three security guys that hang your skis up and give you a numbered tag that you then give them when you want your skis.

But yeah last week my almost brand new Armada pipe gloves got stolen. Not as big a deal but still pisses me off that I paid 45 dollars for em and someone just fuckin took em, they were right next to my helmet on the table in the lodge right beside me and some kid that was in the group I was in took em. The shit part is there is a group of douchebags that think they are good at my mountain but they're not and that's who decided to ride with me and my friends and I know it was one of the people in my group (seeing as we were the only ones in the lodge) and every time they see me they say "Hey, where are your gloves?" and they all laugh. someones gun get punched in the vagina.

i have seen a mismatched pair get stolen. then two people are fucked, believe me, people dumb enough to steal skis are dumb enough to take a mismatched pair. just split up your skis or put them right up against a window

yeah it's called a lock. 

How much did you spend on your skis?  A $20 lock is a very small fraction of that.

I got lucky left my crowbars ( wit fire irid) in the packed lodge accidentally and left. 10 minutes later i realized what happened. Luckily for me someone had turned them in instead of taking them

the skis i got off a buddy for 150 and he paid 400

and the bindings i bought new for 250

that was my 3rd time riding them and i just got them tuned

This past summer I bought a sick mountain bike! I rode it 4 times and it got stolen out of my garage(3weeks after buying it). I feel you pain. It blows getting stuff stolen.

this is the best thing to do if u dont lock up. i also try and put them in sight of where im sitting.

my cousins board was laying on the window we were sitting next to and this kid came up and picked his board up. we ran out and stopped him and some ski patrol took him to costumer service. i don't know what they did to him but that low life bastard can burn in hell. glad we were there to stop him
