OK! You pussied out because you have related this conlflict to everything except what it really is! You complain that I dont have solutions for you! Well To be honest I dont! But I know you are doing the exact oppostite of what the desired outcome is!

I have said countless times the solution is to help the police force in Iraq learn how to fend for themselves and gradually let them take over and do it themselves.

I think I have said that about 4 times now. You just obviously can't read. And I used history as an example of what I think would happen if the US were to leave without doing anything. Now read what I said carefully and stop with the fucking exclamation points and shit.

I think regardless of your opinion in the war in Iraq the frustration our servicemen feel is quite understandable. All of our soldier's host countries populations have jumped onto the liberal bandwagon screaming for our exit out of the middle east, the servicemen would like to go home I am sure as well. However the people they are trying to teach seem to inept, cowardly, or downright hostile to care and therefore are getting more and more American's killed by the day by their lack of dedication. What this argument regarding the serviceman's outburst is his frustration that these "Iraq Policemen" are too much of cowards to face their own problems in their own country. They would rather whine and bitch about the American's in their country however let them as well fix their own problems.

When Saddam was in power he was of the Sunni sect in the Islam faith. Now, because of how somewhat twisted Saddam was he pushed the Shiites and the Kurds especially down the social totem pole, think of them as almost second class citizens. Now as soon as the Marines made it to Baghdad during the initial invasion the Shiites grabbed their guns and ran through the city looting the Sunni areas of the cities and not only doing that but beating the crap out of Sunnis and killing them as well. Now tell me, how would us upping and leaving not cause this when it happened WHILE we were there at the beginning of the invasion?

Go research what Saddam did to the Shiite and Kurds (Shiites as well but not Arabs) while his group, the Sunnis (minority) were ruling, then you will finally understand how unrest and such already existed.

Why are you discussing "sound foreign policy" when I am discussing his leadership tactics for this specific situation.  Your argument has literally nothing to do with the subject.  You are such a fool, I can't believe how much BS you spread across this page on one go.  And I have actually worked and lived with Canadians in the military, so I think that I am just as aware of their position on the war as you think you are.

And if you read my responses, I already said that his decision to go with the "Fuck you guys" approach probably wouldn't work with their culture.  But this isn't like his first day in Iraq either, I guarantee you he has been trying to "empower the people" already and is getting fed up.  We can't pull out if their people won't commit to rolling over and allowing the Taliban to take charge again, so he is trying to get them to do their jobs.

In 2006 they had elections for a new Iraqi government, so all your bullshit arguments about us controling them are wrong, we are there to pretty much stop them from getting train run on them, which would happen if we just up and left. You can't just leave a country full of soldiers that are hiding amongst normal citizens. They would run train on the Iraqi police and everything that we did for them would be pointless other than removing Sadam from power.

I just finished reading "One Bullet Away" by Nathaniel Fick. Gonna re-read Flags of our Fathers soon I think.

And Charmander, the vid is of what looks to be a Army Lieutenant bitching at some members of the Iraqi police force for not doing their job. And Canadians feel that way cause we always comment about them maybe?

how is One Bullet Away anyways? I've been meaning to read that for awhile.

And this video shows his frustration clearly. He's pissed because they were trained to do something, and they aren't doing it. And he's humiliating their leaders to get them going. By doing that, they'll want to redeem themselves to their officers, and hopefully get their job done.

Though i do find it kind of funny how the American soldiers are decked out in full combat equipment and armor, and the iraqis are wearing thin shirts, hats and pants.

Mix "Black Hawk Down" (the book), "A Rumor of War" (Philip Caputo's Vietnam Memoir), and mix it with "Generation Kill" and that is what you get. It goes very in depth into his training and how the training they have now does nothing to prepare them for the war they face. Essentially a war that has no uniformed enemy and the peculiarity it creates for the common soldier. Shows how American Servicemen are truly just normal guys (Recon Marines is male only) that do an extraordinary job and work their asses off.
