Replying to A couple boot questions...

Ok so last year i rode spks in a 27 this year i purchased a pair of the same year spk's in a 27 (my liner was completely shot.) and im having a few probelms

1. The toungue doesnt seem to be as wide as my old ones and pinches me occasionally. Will it widen out?

And the big one
2. The kid i bought them from decided to cut the toes in the liners. I put duct tape over it but im worried about them getting too cold. Is there a way to fix this.
