the movie was started in 06, i believe? cameron had been sitting on the super original story(see any cowbows vs indians story ever) for quite a few years, but the reason it took this long for him to produce it was the lack of computer animation technology, most notably 3D. I believe that if the graphics in avatar were any less than 150% cutting edge, it would lose alot of it's bang.

Invictus was pretty good (though typical Hollywood simplification of South African politics...)... but how can you not like something with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon in it? Also love a South African accent.

Blind Side was also good...but then I'm a sucker for a 'kid from wrong side of the tracks+inspirational figure + sports = happiness all round' sort of film

The Dark Knight is way to overrated in my opinion. Heath Ledger's death really contributed to the whole hype. It wasn't a bad movie and i know a lot of people don't agree with me, but i have seen much better.

thank you, i completely agree. the 3d was good and wut not but the movie was so predictable and the main story line was unoriginal.

sherlock holmes was really good, liked it a lot. i didn't expect it to be good, but it was surprisingly really interesting.

I liked the plot of avatar a lot, I don't understand the hate on it. I thought that the longer movie actually let it develop a longer, deeper plot than most movies.
