This shit is blowing me away right now. I don't know what to think of it. Thought NS would like to know.
I went and saw Avatar last night in IMAX 3D (totally recommend it, go, even though the plot does have very strong liberal political overtones (i'm conservative)). Got done with the movie about 1 :15 Am. went and picked up my brother from a party, and ended up getting home around 2:15 ish. I get into bed around 2:30.
I didn't really believe in ghosts before this incident, but it has been bugging me all day. At around 3 am, my body went ice cold, and all my nerves tensed up. It was like I was literally frozen in place. I was about to fall asleep, but my eyes shot WIDE open towards a wall in my room. This wall receives little to no light in the day, and car headlights don't pass near the window either, so any artificial light could not have done this.
I saw a figure floating above my bed, drifting slightly away from the bed. It had short, wispy, almost disshelveled brown/gray hair. Its face (if it had one), was faced down, so I didn't get a great look at it. Below the hair/face thing was what looked like a translucent night gown: White wisps that flared out slightly below the face, as if it was around a very slender figure. I looked down at the ground to see if the thing had legs or feet, but it didn't Anything about a foot from the floor was empty space.
At this point, I am wide awake and scared out of my god-damned mind. I tried to move but simply couldn't. I am just stuck staring at this thing, afraid to move and what it might do to me. I stared at it for about 5 seconds. Then the thing did something very freaky. I saw the white wisps of the nightgown fade away, and as this happened, the figure lifted its head. I thought I saw, instead of a face, a bare skull underneath that hair. That skull looked to be sreaming, or smiling, or something. I only saw it for an instant before the head/ hair/ skull thing faded away.
I ran into my parents bedroom and slept on the floor in there for the rest of the night. I'm in college, I haven't done that since elementary school. Could be the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.
I did some research and found that 3 am is traditionally the bewitching hour (as 3 pm is the holy hour, people say the devil mocks this, which is why demons and lost souls are said to frequently appear at night.)
I don't know if I can sleep in my room again over winter break. It kept me from sleeping/ going skiing today. just thought you guys should know, anyone else have a similar experience?
