Night Skiing In The East

So tonight my friend and I are planning on night skiing at Jiminy Peak in Mass. Its supposed to be 5 degrees and have 25-30mph winds. That equals about -20 degrees. Is this insane or should we go for it anyways?

I wouldn't, its gunna be fucking freezing, not to mention night skiing is the worst skiing as all the runs have been through 1002939202 gapers during the day and are complete ice.

I went night skiing when in was like 70 degrees once.

Just something to think about while you are literally freezing your ass off.

at my mountain every night it gets extremely icy. But its still fun for rails and shit.

just cover all of your skin and you will be fine. 5 isnt that cold, just the wind chill will be...... were a long sleeve, sweatshirt, jacket.....skimask, bandana, hat, helmet w/ insulation, goggles......long johns, ski pants, thick socks.......

I know what Jiminy's like at night, its an icerink. Since its -20 the mtn will be empty. One of my freinds pussied out so its just me and 2 other kids. Its gonna be epic wish me luck.

Depends if you think the juice is worth the squeeze, I normally try to avoid night skiing altogether. Unless theres absolutely nothing to do. Its the ice that gets to me. And weather effects my mood, the dreaded darkness just isnt as much fun as a playful sun :)

if you plan on skiing park...good luck. I was up there a few days ago and the jumps onto the boxes/rails were at least 5 inches below the rails/boxes. Hopefully the park crew has fixed that but I doubt it.

Spring night skiing is the bomb where i live. Usually stays in the upper 40's and 50's and the moutain is empty

I learned to ski at Brodie Mountain (RIP) right around the corner from Jiminy Peak in a Saturday night ski club back in the 90s. Single digit temps were the norm for the berkshires at night, I say go for it!

When I was in colorado some guys on the chairlift were like really stoked on skiing "under the lights" as they said. I guess it's not as common as it is here in the east? I'd go, but dress warm obviously. Skiing is fun, and unless it's really going to freeze you to death than go for it. Sharpen your edges or something and have fun.

As I type this I'm thinking the skiing or not skiing already went down, whatever.

Just got back and the temp wasnt that bad. I didnt  need a beanie under the helmet or anything for my face. Jiminy somehow made a decent sized jump w/ a good lip, but their rails still sucked. and yeah it was icey as fuck

so.. went to jiminy peak last night.. it was horrible... jump is maybe 30ft but has no inrun and you have to go 957489739457miles an hour at it... rails were sketch and the mountain was ice.. fthat
