Replying to I've turned into a powder snob, I think...
I hope it's only temporary, because it feels dirty. Our last snowfall was a week ago today, since then it's been sunny and the avalanche conditions have been optimal for touring... so I (along with everyone else it seams) has been getting out there and touring our ass's off while the tourists here for the holidays have been making inbounds icier and icier.
And well, yesterday my gf took our car to the city till Thursday so I don't have a way to get to the touring spots that aren't connected to the resort, the slackcountry that IS connected to the resort is more tracked than I've ever seen it due to the holidays combined with great touring conditions, and the park has been sitting in the valley fog.
Today, we got 2cms, but I have absolutely no interest in heading up the hill. This is my second day off, where I will probably spend the day playing Stoked on Xbox, or WiiSports instead of going on skiing a busy, icy ski hill or tracked slackcountry. The park isn't in the fog today, but still, I don't feel like going out to hit the 3 rails they have set up.
I think I'll just try to find something to jib in town tonight to at least get my skis under my feet and do something entertaining. But geez, I feel like I'm being bad. 5 more days TOPS till the crowds are gone, and hopefully some fresh snow when they do leave and everything will be fine.
Anyone else opting to sit around playing video games than go up to the hill and deal with a tracked out noob fest that is the holidays?
