Turbo, had everything that sums up skiing today in equal portions. Pow in the Monashees, big mountain in Alaska, heaps of urban jibbing, kickers, pipe and everything in between.
I loved Warren Miller's involvement in Refresh, but felt the movie had maybe too much jibbing and kickers, and less of the variety that was found in Turbo which is why I prefer it.
Soundtrack and editing wise both are top notch and what Level 1 are now well known for.
I sum it up like this...
I love Refresh, but when i have it on my Huge ass HD TV, in the background, i find myself keep replaying the same segment (s)... basically Delorme and Mammoth because they have so much energy and feel good factor about them - soundtrack wise too.... BUT with Turbo, i can put the whole movie on loop.... the Turbo Soundtrack is SO much better, again a greater mix of Hip Hop, Reggae, electronic..... they even use a Pet Shop Boys track and make it sick.... wtf!?! Turbo... and Real Time for that matter... that said, Refresh was something a bit different and new but i'll never forget the first time i saw the start of Riddles Pipe section in Turbo with the wide angle pan shot - i never even realised it was a pip at first... sick... I have decided for me - Turbo all the way.
