Wow I would hate to work for some of you little pricks in the forum. Obama took a two week vacation. By all accounts he has been one of the hardest working presidents in recent history.

And Panda, Bushes first term? You mean the one where he allowed the biggest terrorist attack in American history to take place, started a culture of preemptive war, took a shit on the rights of Americans and the Constitution, and spent 60% of his time on vacation clearing brush?

I don't understand why you guys hate Obama so much; he took on health care, averted what most economists believed to be the next great depression, improved international relations, approved much needed improvements to Americas deteriorating third world equivalent infrastructure (Katrina, I-35 collapse), created a comprehensive strategy for Afghanistan, and went after big business.

Sounds like he deserved two weeks in the state of his birth where, thanks to technology, he is most likely working more than any of you brats do.

You mean the terrorist attack that hardline critics say there were warning signs before he was elected? You know, while the great womanizer Clinton was still in office. Preemptive war I will give you. Taking a shit on Americans and the Constitution? Isn't it against one of the first 10 Amendments to favor one state over another in terms of taxes and such? Then how is it that Nebraska can get off on NOT having to pay taxes for this new healthcare system Obama is trying to get installed?

this thread is disgusting. some people nit pick the tiniest things just to complain. fuck you. 4000$ for 2 weeks is really nothing in the grand scheme of things. i highly doubt most of you "taxpayers" do your own taxes. we would be in a much greater world of hurt if he didnt bring/ pay extra to have his his secret service, bullet proof cars, and other security with him and he were assassinated. things would go down the shitter so much deeper then we already are.

I know that you have done some of the research and know that Clinton made attempts to kill Osama and other terrorists, but after Somalia the republican Congress blocked every attempt and blasted Clinton for being a war monger. Condoleezza rice got a memo on her desk that laid out the potential attack and how even had a section on them hijacking air liners. I think it was titled "Osama determined to Attack Within United States." Bottom line, 911 happened on Bushes watch, how much previous presidents contributed is irreverent. Clinton got his dick sucked by an intern, wouldn't you if you were married to Hillary. That is personal life and does not interest me unless it effects his decision making as a president. Which it did when there was a republican witch hunt.

I do not blame Obama for Ben Nelson's dick head agenda. It was despicable that he would use his vote as special treatment for his state, more specifically for his campaign contributors. But look at the issue, its a trillion dollar bill, Nebraska is going to get 15 million in tax breaks. And the bill has already been so slowed down something needed to give.

The republicans know they are the minority, so they are just going to play it safe and not participate in the bill making progress in any way. If they don't come up with any ideas then they can't be criticized. They are just going to pick and choose parts of the bill to blast and vote no every time. This way when reelection comes around they can go back to their conservative base and say "I voted no on health care reform!" When the truth is that we have by far the worst health care system per dollar in the world and is so corrupted by insurance companies and big pharmaceutical companies that the country stands to go bankrupt if nothing is done.

Bush named his bill "The Patriot Act" to get everyone behind it, passed it in a month with most senators not even reading it. (who would vote no on the patriot act?) and destroyed 300 years of personal privacy and freedom. Also shit all over the Geneva convention and treatment of criminals.

My thing with Nelson though is it makes the Bill Unconstitutional because not only Nelson/Nebraska cut a deal (a deal the the Governor of Nebraska was screaming and yelling that people don't want).

i know that our takes fund his salary, but its not like we give him any more to afford his vacation. the president has probably one of the hardest jobs in the world and should be paid a much as he is. i see no problem with it.

He is paid 400k annually to be the president. He also has multiple book deals. However I am pretty sure that he is required to travel on one of the air force 1 747's which is funded by tax payers and is not a fixed cost, like his salary. You can not dictate how a public official spends his salary.

His salary comes from my taxes, and as a voter my one unalienable right is to bitch uncontrollably about whatever I feel necessary, much like soldiers do. And using his salary for something gives me the right to bitch about what he does technically does it not?

no it does not. His salary is a set cost where it comes from is not relevant. By your logic you should be able to follow around the postman and tell him how to spend his paycheck. His salary is his money and is his to use as he pleases.

No, I am a registered voter with no party affiliation. WA state pretty much everyone I think can vote in the primaries.


And when I said liberals I was talking about the ones that were all over the news like the moronic "tea party" people are.

Arguing on the internet is not about the destination (which is always name calling and tough guy attitudes, or more recently crocodile) it's about the journey, getting out anger and exchanging points of views with different people.

Today, thanks to internet and cable TV, it is possible to tailor the media you experience to coincide with your views. You would never have a differing view and would accept what you see on your source of information. Arguing on the internet makes people see points from other sides.

Basically;

Internet bickering = good for society

I agree with you there. The whole situation was as good of an opportunity as ever to show support for the people of Iran. Literally revolution that could have totally changed the face of the nuclear argument. There's still time, I think; 2010 will almost certainly be the year of Iran.

They should have not put it on a damn swamp. And they should know better too, they didn't have AC, and had to wear those powdered wigs and suits in the summer and couldn't they tell it would really REALLY suck to have to be in DC in the summer?

And like Gnartron said, people make mistakes. Just cause they are the 4 most prestigious founding fathers doesn't make them Gods that can't make a moronic decision once in awhile.
