Afterbangs or chronics

hey ns im think about getting new skis and i dont know which ones. i mostly ski the park but if there's pow ill do a few pow laps.my friend got the chronics and i tryed them and liked them alot. and what bindings should i get with the skis? i am about 5'9, 125 pounds. pretty good skier. not so good in the park but im learning.

well the afterbangs are more a park jib ski.  they're soft, playful, and great on rails.  the chronics are stiffer.  they are better on jumps, and handle powder better.  they kill it in the park too. 

if you liked the chronics, and you want a ski that can handle powder alright..go chronics.  although, if you would rather just stick with a more playful jib ski...go afterbangs.

they are both great skis, you can't go wrong with either ski

i did my homework on both the skis. i found that when i tryed my friends chronics they were soft as well. personally i like a soft ski i can butter and play around on.

i've skied the afterbangs for 4days in Hafjell, Norway. They're such a fun ski to ride, had a lot of fun riding them, used them outside of the park and they are really good in the slopes too. But railing with afterbangs is like landing on a cloud in cartoons, soo good! You just have to gride you edges and they're like heaven. LOVE'EM

Well the Afterbang will get destroyed, and the Chronic is more versatile - I say the Chronic.

What makes a ski "great on rails"? It seems like the flex wouldn't matter...

The edges, the flex DOES matter. if you have a stifer ski they would probably just slip of the rail/box faster and easier than a ski with good flex.
