Basically, I found a guy selling an iphone 3G for a good price, and at that point it was locked to AT&T, but he said it could be unlocked, so I paid him via Paypal. I looked around google, and found out that the baseband he was on ( 5.11.07 ) cannot be unlocked, unless it could be downgraded, which cant be done to all iphones. Once I realized that I told him, and he said he was pretty sure it could be unlocked, but he was at his relatives for the weekend, and that he'd unlock it when he got home. He would be offline for long periods of time, and even when I PM'd him, he read them and didnt respond. I said stuff like: "Listen, can you just send the money my way, see what you can do, and if you can unlock it, ill send the money, but until then just send it back." - No response. A day later he PM's me back saying "Dude chill the fuck out ive been busy" Or something along those lines. Anyways, move on to today, I PM'd him in the morning because I was feeling skeptical, seeing as he had 0 feedback, and when I searched his posts, he seemed to be trying to buy alot of stuff via paypal, fast. So I told him to send the money back, I didnt wanna deal anymore, and then now he PM'd me back saying chill, he got it unlocked and asked if I still wanted it. I said yeah, and apologized for the multiple messages, I was just nervous about getting fucked over. He responded with " yeah i know what u mean bro but chill man....i have fortunetly never
been screwed just for some advice what do u do if u are fucked over
what can u do is probly a better ??? " Which I assume is him asking me what I could do if he fucked me over, which makes me think he's trying to pull something. My question is, should I file a paypal claim now, before he spends all my money, so they can freeze the funds and give me a chance at getting the money back, or should I wait to see if he follows through and sends me the phone?
TLDR: Might be getting fucked over via paypal, should I file a claim or not.
