Who do you think will be the next mcconkey

so i just got in deep for christmas (i know i am late on this) but shane's segment is the best edit i have ever seen in any movie, but it got me thinking on who could be the person who will take his place as the fun loving eppic skiier then no one can hate nomatter how hard they try.

i personally think it will be colby west.

I totally agree. I mean colby wont be doin the same stuff as shane but deffinetly got that personality where everyone loves him! I've gotten to meet him before and hes just a fun guy to be around.

i know that no one can and will replace Shane, i am trying to ask who will come close to it. so try not to hate, it is a positive thread try to keep it that way

im just saying, personality wise, yea colby takes it. skiing wise, no fucking way, shane charged it with a unique style, he designed the very skis we ski on years ago, he was a true innovator. so i come back to my point, nobody can will could ever be like shane.

No ones hating. I just think everyone realizes that Shane was one of a kind, thats all. Your guess with Colby though is a good one. Thats where my vote is.

ya i agree. sure, i guess colby is one of the industry's funny men, but shane has been killing it for years. it was his combination of being an amazing skier and person that inspired every kid. i know colby has skill, but i used to by all of msp's shitty movies as a kid just to see shane's segment.

Its doubtful another pro skier will be named shane mcconkey so obviously no one.  There is however still room for new innovation, so there will undoubtedly be others like him.

There are a couple guys that charge just as hard as he did like Morrison, Nobis, and Harrison, but there was something about how Shane did it just for fun rather than seeing how fast or big they could go makes him different.

Within Shane there were aspects that all skiers could relate to, whether his passion, humor, skill, innovation or just his connection to others and ability to make them happy. Many skiers exemplify one or or more of these traits but it is something that was a total package with Shane. Shane came at a time that the ski industry needed Shane and Shane needed the ski industry to propel what we know as skiing to the levels that you now see today. These stars alining caused breakthroughs in innovation as well as a perception change of skiing, because of Shanes cumulation of passion and personality he will not soon be replaced.

Everyone is their own skier,

Who read the article on him in skiing magazine a few months back?
The author went into detail on how he was ski bumming at age seventeen. forgive me, i can't remember where or the exact details. but he met a pro and told the pro his situation. the pro thought it was pretty damn cool that a seventeen year old drove all the way from wherever he started just to ski. And to hit him up, if he ever wanted to slay a few runs with him. That Pro? he found out later that of course, it was shane. I think pro's that are like that, just pure friendly and willing to do anything to make a fellow skier's day better...well that's what made shane stand apart.
