ok so this year has been the first year there has been enough snow in my home town to set up a sesh... got some random crap from the barn and made a little set up.. great if you could help me out with thoughts/ comments and suggestions for improvements! tarrr...

yer couple of times.. cant get enough speed on an the rail is pretty wobbly!

personally i would make the rail lower and make a longer transition between the rail and the drop-in, i would also try to build that pipe into the snow a little to make it sturdier. check out the build a jib cult for other ideas

it def looks like you dont have enough speed. It almost looks like you have it setup going uphill. Put it on a slight downhill, make a taller drop in, or lower the rail.

i can see the speed being a bit of an issue. it looks sick though maybe you should try lowering the rail to get the speed you want

to help with the pipe, you could try securing it to some wood so it has more base to stand up on.
then burry the feet of the wood in the snow.
sorry if this doesnt make much sense though!

yer at the moment its on old kart tyres and need to find something to make the drop in higher....  great advice though will have a bash in the morning

You definitely you need a bigger drop in ramp or try to find a place with a bit of slope and put the drop in on that. I would also make a longer flat part between the drop in and the rail because the one you have is pretty short. Screw that pvc or pipe into something because that is sketchy having it just sit on tires.

they are all made of wood and stuff, so you mkght need some supplies (wood and little black pvc pipes)

Try and put the rail on a bit of a down too, it will help on top of what the other dude said in a low speed set up like yours.

spread out the gap between the drop in and the rail.

Try to make hte drop in a bit bigger..maybe add more snow to the base.

Cool idea, maybe make the rail on a slant. stack maybe three blocks to two blocks to the bottom of jib itself packed into the snow so its more sturdy.

Zactly.  Having that pipe resting on top of two tires is going to be really sketchy.  It will rock side to side while you're sliding it.  I would lower it to one tire height.  That should make it more stable.  Also you can get away with a smaller jump to get on.  Also give yourself a little gap to the rail.  That should do.  Stoked that you guys in UK can do this now.  God bless Global Warming!

either a higher drop in, or a lower rail. and attach your rail to something to make it more sturdy. You can do this by drilling through the botttom layer of the pipe at the very ends of it. That should make it a bit sturdier

sick! some snow in England! all my snow melted before i could drag my summer set up out of the garage... good luck with it, i would for defo make that rail lower, there seems no need to have it so high! good luck hope your snow hangs around for a bit!

definitely check out the Build-a-jib 101 cult, they have all  sorts of designs for rails, boxes, drop ins, etc... the rail looks a little sketchy with the 1/2 pvc piping and tires, so i'd definitely investigate some designs for a pvc rail with a wood frame. if you make it real low to the ground, your drop in will supply more than enough speed to make it work. good luck with your setup!

throw a table in there. tables are fun

but just working with what you have, just nail everything together. itd probably help to use wood instead of tires too

i made a rail out of 2x4's and pvc. i love it. the pvc is really fast though. might be good in your situation. a 10' rail only cost me 34 bucks, and by the looks of your set up you can use less wood than mine
