Another GoPro/iMovie thread

I know, there's a ton of them, but I've tried the cult and tried asking other people. My question isn't actually as much about the camera, but about the uploading. I got it a couple weeks ago, and was able to film with it for the past two weekends. Two weekends ago, the footage was fine, I uploaded it to my Mac (iMovie) fine, and had no problems with any of it. Ever since this last weekend, every time I try to upload the footage I got to iMovie, only the first half of the clip uploads. It's fucking weird, and fucking annoying.

I've tried a ton of stuff, and all of it points to something being messed up with my iMovie. I used my camera and my cable, and was able to upload it fine to my friend's Mac. I've tried different memory cards and different cables, and still have the same problem. I've tried downloading iMovie again, and again it only uploads half of every clip.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know anything about it? I like iMovie because it's simple, but maybe it's time I tried something else (Final Cut Express maybe?) I need some help, so give me anything. Thanks in advance.

Usually if there is something wrong with my software I just uninstall it and reinstall, usually this works, but dunno if it'll work on mac (using PC).

Have you tried using image capture to upload first, and then import the files into the video editing software?

do you have a card reader? if so try just dragging the clips from the card to your computer, and then to imovie, rather than importing directly from the camera. imovie is actually not bad editing software for being free with a mac, but their importing blows, it doesnt work with like 75% of the words video cameras i swear haha
