im in the market for a new photo pack, currently looking at both the dakine mission and sequence, and the burton zoom. ill be carrying a canon eos 400d, 70-200, 18-55, and a 50mm, plus card reader, bateries, extra CF cards, gloves, my macbook and charger, and a few other small things. what are your oppinion's on these pack, thanks
i would go with either cini bag(thats what i have for my xha1 but it would be pefect for what you got, has a laptop sleve and feels more like a real pack then a toster on your back) or an F stop. My friend has one for his d700 and it got me kinda jelous. look into it i heard it takes a long time to ship though
Sounds like a good idea to me. And if it helps, the features on my Dakine Heli Pro are really nice and the pack is durable. There are other much much nicer and more expensive packs out there, but this one is great for normal everyday use and just hiking in bounds.
With that much gear the sequence sounds like your best bet. I was going to get one but don't have that much stuff to carry, so for me a small camera bag inside my heli pro works like a dream. The sequence has the removable camera block which is super nice, and then plenty of extra room even with that full. Definitely worth the money for the size, comfort, and quality of the pack..
I would look into F-Stop and Lowepro, I haven't been all that impressed with DaKine when it comes to anything beyond a basic ski pack. Bring your stuff into a camera store and find something that will fit your gear the way you want, then get that one.
