So I got skis for xmas and im getting them mounted tomorrow. the line on the ski says mid sole. what does that mean? thats not the center of the ski, right? I want them mounted 3cm back from center. What do i tell them so there isnt a misunderstanding?
Midsole is where the manufacturer recommends the middle of your boot sole aka midsole should lie when they're mounted up. On your boot there is a line/mark in the middle marking this point so that the tech can match them up. Depends on the ski as to where this lies in relation to true centre/chord centre et al. If you want a genuine answer as to what to say to your tech, we need more info on the ski, but with a combination of searchbar, measuring tape and a marker you can probably figure it out yourself; after all, you are a professor
