Hello. I'd like to share a story before my post... Couple weeks back, I met these 4 kids, all 18, from Barrie Ontario. The decided to pack up everything into a jeep one day and head West. Week and a half on the road, I meet them in Lake Louise Alberta. The cold froze their jeep, and I generously offered them to stay for the night and have dinner with me in my hotel room. They had only been snacking and having the bare essentials, since they had no money for much. Since then, we have become friends. They have finished their journey and are now living in Vancouver.

This idea of them packing up and going travelling with no real plan has inspired me to do such a thing. Since I live in Golden, BC, I don't really want to go more West. So I have decided to go North, hopefully to make it to the Yukon or Alaska. I am planning to only bring a backpack and about 1 grand cash. My journey will start come May.

Now I have decided to turn the NS to see if there are any people out there who would like to tag along and come on a journey with me. No car, no internet, no tv. Just the open road. Camping, hostels, wildlife, nature. Everything in life, raw.

So if there is anyone out there that is interested. Please contact me. I think it will be fun!

that sounds super sick, have fun man! You planning on skiing at all where you go? you want to stay out in AK when you get there?

And I would suggest bringing a lot of food from home, it will keep costs down and be a bit safer

I am very very interested in this, I already talked to my parents about it but a) I don't have $1000 to my name, and b) I don't have enough gas or gas money for me to make it too far north. They won't be too happy with me peacing out for a month or two either...and I know that I would feel terrible for making them worried. But maybe next summer (in 2011). Keep in touch if you still plan on doing this.

And I'm going in May, so I'm not really planning on skiing.

Haha, it's an interesting idea. One third of the money I'm saving is emergency money. I don't want to get fucked over up there. I'd love to do it twice, with your interest in it. But by 2011, I'll be in school in Calgary.

So before I go to school, I want go out and do something with my life. I'm doing the ski bum thing right now, skiing everday. Once my hill closes, I'll be bored again though. So I go north.
