Making Snowshoes Compatible with Ski Boots

So I dont have an AT setup, and as much as I want one, I cant afford it [yet]. So I've been messing around in the backcountry hiking with snowshoes. Contrary to what Ive heard, my boots fit fine in the L.L Bean snowshoes, that was no big deal. But I thought to myself, what if you had bindings, clicky bindings, on your snowshoes? Just like skis? I think that would be a great idea.
I tested them out, and I was practically running up the hill.
