Mixing 720p and 1080p

So I have been trying out the new GoPro HD and am planning to make a short edit when in Whistler next weekend. I will be either shooting in 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. Therefore, I ask:

1) Does it look fine combining 720p and 1080p in an edit or will it look inconsistent?

2) Is it worthwhile going for 720p at it has a wider field of vision and 60 fps, despite slowmo can be a little overplayed or just stick with 1080p as it is a better resolutiont?

you can film in both and downress the 1080 or upress the 720 to 1080 because your final output is probly not going to be 1080. 720 is pretty good for web

vimeo downconverts to 720p, so if thats your medium, you can shoot both and export 720p. downconverting tends to look better too because of the original compression

You wont notice a difference unless you're burning bluray and watching it on a 50" 1080p tv. even then you'll probably wont even notice the difference.

And id personally just shoot 720 the whole time, probably when i get mine ill only shoot 60p, just because its 60fps doesn't mean it has to be slow mo, it just give you the option to have it in slow motion.

Also rendering 1080p footage takes a bit longer so is a bit of a hassle if the final edit is in 720
